Last window we had some ITK on the Belgian lad, Toby Alderwireld, from Ajax. He recently turned down a £7m move to Norwich because he wanted a bigger club and has spoken about us in the past.

Edit: think he's in the last year of his contract too.

Have you people even applied any amount of critical thinking to the Caulker situation?

How many CB's do we have that can play RIGHT THE FUCK NOW?

Two.......one of them is Dawson and the other is Caulker.

So we're going to sell one of the only two CB's we have right now?

And even if we get Vlad the Impaler, that only means we have three CB's for two competitions.

Vertonghen will be back by September. Then we will have four. But Vlad will take a few months to adjust just like every foreign player. Until Kaboul can get over his worrisome injuries.......Caulker is a very prominent player in the first team.

But, sure.....we'll just sale him and have Dawson for the Palace match. Makes perfect sense.

The problem is we have applied that critical thinking. Have the upper echelons?

I'm a super-positive chap - but this has been an awfully negative day; even for me!

The see-saw is incredible, one moment we're on the cusp of Soldado signing and having a title-challenging team - the next minute we're selling an England hopeful and our star player and we're going to finish 10th. It's all rumours of course, and nothing has yet been confirmed - so potentially, as things stand, we are still a Soldado away from having a title-challenging team.

Then why doesn't it feel like that?

Odd day.

People should wait to see how our transfer business develops before they start shitting themselves about Caulker.

I would of liked Caulker to continue on here, of course I would. I know he's still young and gaining experience, particularly with defenders its critical, as a lot of it is down to decision making which improves with time.

However I'm not totally convinced by him. The jury was still out on him as far I was concerned. Use to think it was a good thing that he went unnoticed a lot of the times in games, now I'm not so sure.

If its big money, I can understand it. But I won't if we have left ourselves short.

Seriously guys, can we replace Culker?

Can we find another Soldado?

Get a grip!

Do you really think people aren't more concerned with getting Soldado over losing Caulker? That really goes without saying, it's just the Soldado stuff has felt like it's been going on for so long that there's not much more to say on the matter, we're just waiting for the completion of the deal.

why not? 7 million is replacement will cost, with no experience in the premier league.

There is that side to it, yeah I see your point.

I just think that with how quick this has happened, the transfer must have ticked all the boxes.

Good money.
Good potential replacement lined up.
Couple of million left over.

There's an element of risk with everything. Maybe we're thinking the risk is worth taking, to good to turn down.

I like Caulker. I think AVB has seen enough to be convinced there are better centre backs out there and already at the club. Not first choice. That's another reason why I think it's a good move for him.

We've been linked with a Brazilian Centre Back called Doria but only through the press.

Meant to be the next Marquinos (or some shit like that) who just got sold to PSG for 27Million.

Could be something in that rumor after all as selling Caulker definitely leaves us short.

WTF is going on, sounds like the next few weeks are going to be chaos. What's the point of selling Caulker? He's only going to get better and cut out his mistakes IMO.

I may be wrong but can players over 21 (as caulker is) be loaned between premiership clubs???
You must be wrong,we had ade on loan for his first season with us,and he weren't under 21.

Chiriches or another CB must be imminent with Caulker having a medical at Cardiff! We will have 1 fit centre half plus Kaboul...

Somebody called you out on not Stamping Nacer last night. I tried to do it and it felt so wrong that I deleted the post.

So here I am calling for skepticism on Caulker

but last night I believed in the magical power of you to copy and paste a gif over myself doing the exact same thing, despite the OS announcement.

So, I am a bit of the Emperor Has No Clothes on this :D

Only if he plays consistently IMO, which just simply won't happen with us.

coz every fucker is thinking 'if it's good enough for Marca lets just print shit as fact'

We should run a competition to see who can get the most ludicrous Bale story in the "legitimate press" that's now an oxymoron for me (and no that doesn't mean spotty idiot ;) )

I'll start the bidding:
Bale's Nan knitted Daniel Levy a Real Madrid scarf and made some homemade Cuetara Galletas 'Maria' (traditional Spanish biscuits) before sitting down with Bale and Daniel Levy to demand her grandson leave her in peace as he's "always coming back to Wales and we can't bloody stand it"
