i'll leave you with this thought for the evening.

nothing accepted, nothing mentioned, some RM pressure.

like my sunday morning shits, nothing solid.

over the past three days nothing has changed, just the rhetoric.

The most disappointing thing that I picked up on in that interview with Burt was thls; had said he been speaking to Moyes and Woodward (ex united guy) and they were both very keen to stress to him they felt we were serious contenders this season. Now this was before the Bale speculation went into over drive, and they were obviously thinking a long these lines with Bale still at Spurs.

He touched on what we already know, that the League could be so open this year.

Its a crying shame when you really think about it. Its a crushing realisation that we are so close yet, again, we are going to be denied probably.

And that's the football food chain, the glass ceiling - call it whatever you like.

We'll pick up and go again, until we get close again - and repeat. Sad but true.

Planning for the long term under AVB gives me great hope though - all is not lost, far from it.

Make everything absolutely perfect in my life or you're dead to me, Levy! D-E-A-D.

Frankly, AVB is the one we need to keep happy. If AVB is fine with this and gets to reinvest a chunk of any money we get in players he is comfortable with then that's fine with me. Baldini is in situ, give AVB the tools to have a balanced squad and I'll expect good things, Bale or no Bale.

I've had enough. We are a joke in The transferwindow. Halilovic and Jedvaj confirmed by Dinamo, then We blow it. Can't Get Soldado done. Then selling Caulker without getting The romanian cb in. I think The transfer Of Bale to Madrid was agreed a long time ago to cover for Chadli, Paulinho and Soldado. We won't buy Lamela, Hulk, Damaio, Coentrao, Di Maria, Modric, Pastore, Mata, Suarez or any star plater because We don't have The money Even when Bale goes :( I guess AVB will jump The ship before november and rightly so.

Yeah, I get that they've been mouthing off... but that's all it is. They can mouth off all they like, it doesn't mean anything. My point is, that if we were in negotiations, or if they'd asked to speak to Bale, or if they've already tabled a bid, I reckon you can be damned sure they'd have mentioned it by now. The reality is, at the moment, the only murmurings coming out of Madrid, is the statements you've quoted above which are no way an indication that talks have opened or that GB actually wants to go at all.

I read this all as :

Real Madrid are obviously interested and have enquired about Bale. and Possibly made a firm bid which has been rejected

Bale's Agent or Bale himself have very recently told people within the club he would like to go this summer (which is were some ITK probably got their info from) Bale himself is probably too respectful to come out to the press and do a luka which is why he is saying nothing...and of course just in case the move doesn't come off, he won't want to lose any fans

Daniel Levy has rejected their initial offer and is now off relaxing in the sun and has not accepted anything new nor is he trying to get Di frakking Maria as part of the deal because he literally isn't in any negotiations with them right now

and this all just a crazy media storm thanks to people getting wind of bale being willing to go, and Madrid's continued push through media sources that they will get their man

Bale wanting to go + Madrid saying they will pay huge money to get him = he must be a gonna

Daniel Levy being a proud Stubborn sum bitch is still the wild card for now, and I wouldn't be surprised if he comes out in a few days and says 'he won't be sold this summer at all, how do u like them apples?'

The only problem I have with bale going is, with the length of time it's takes us to conclude transfers we are running out of time getting in replacements.

Well, i've been reading all the stuff about Bale for days now, been going over both scenarios, him staying, him going, in my head and i have to say my conclusion is, well i'll still be a Spurs fan, we'll still be challenging for top four, beyond that *puffs cheeks out, kicks a tire* toughie innit

Why does everyone take what JJ says as gospel? His strike rate us really rather poor at the moment isn't it? He called benteke as done? Signed new contract? Villa was done? Joined atletico! And sure he said mouts was done last summer? Now I'm not bashing cos I know it's forbidden! But just saying he ai t the bloody oracle!

You quite clearly are bashing mate......take what he says or don't but appreciate what he has given in the past that has been spot on. Posts like that drive ITK away.

No offence meant but hey....:)

We don't even know if the 80m figure he made up off the top of his head included their valuation or not.

If they did not agree terms the deal would be void unless there was a contingency plan in place, such as actually paying for the the transfer

Maybe this is a ploy to placate Bale and his agent and say that we were willing to talk to RM but they can't come up with what we want and the players that they are offering that we are happy to take as part of the deal don't want to leave. Really putting the emphasis on RM's to make it happen rather than us giving in to them.

Clutching at straws but hoping.

Thanks for the intelligent and respectful counter-argument. ;)

Please don't treat that as a counter to whatever argument you were trying to pull from halfway down behind you. I'm very very bored of those sorts of posts. I expressed that disdain in the most appropriate way. By yawning in your general direction.

You see, I'm still at work. I have been for 13 hours now. I'm doing something incredibly boring, incredibly boring. And my one relief is to come on here every now and then and hope for some transfer news. Instead I get "Levy credibility" bullshit. There is a perfectly good thread in Spurs Chat - virtually even entitled that - for you to chuck such drivvle and have more motivated members on here annihilate your post.

So sorry for the harsh tone, but it bored me, and that's saying something as I've been reviewing leases against one another. Word for word. They're not interesting leases. They're leases of some shitty office building in some horrific regional county. So well done Gervinho. Or whatever you are called. Well done.

I may be sticking my head in the sand and my hands in my ears shouting "LA LA LA I can't hear you" at the top of my voice - but I am clinging to the hope that this is all a show to save Perez some face. He Levy and Barnett are basically working in unison to make sure there is no backlash from RM fans if/when Bale doesn't come considering Perez has made him a priority. Works for Levy as we are constantly in the global press as well giving us exposure. Until I hear a direct quote from Levy or Bale or anyone within our club I will cling to this hope!
