Then we've doing pretty well.

I think I'm right in saying that Levy himself owns a large stake in the club directly himself, either that or a large portion of shares in the company that owns our club. Was in reward for doing such a sterling job I believe, or a result of the very suspicious 'share issues' that we're common before being taken off the public sector monitoring and stock exchange.
From what I gather it was the fact that Villarreal wanted more money and the only way they could is if another party gave up their share in the player but no one was willing to do it and we weren't going to spend (considerably) more than £17million.
I could be wrong though.
I think the third party stuff will get sorted over the autumn and we'll try for him again in Jan (hopefully without competition from bigger clubs)
I actually looked it up a few weeks ago and our lack of net spend started in 2008, which is as we know the year we announced the stadium plans. We've been bottom of the spend league for 6 years in a row now. It's just the stadium
There's a cheap joke in that wikipedia page somewhereLevy owns 29.4% of us and Lewis 70.6%.
Levy is very wealthy in his own right, not just an employee of Lewis. His family business is/wealth comes from Blue Inc: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Inc
Why would we? We already have 5 centre backs and the squad is full. If anything we need to shed one, not add more.
The goals are obviously aligned but it's pretty obvious to me the stadium project is held in much higher esteem in this regard than the on pitch performances.
We keep doing the bare minimum required to be competitive whilst constantly hoping to outperform those with greater resources. Have you ever thought "wow levy has really given the manager the best possible resources to reach his lofty goals here"? I haven't. Plenty of good business, but well within our means.
Not pushing on when 3rd and looking like we were really going places was the big one for a lot of us.
Does that mean I will now become a BSOAA (Bastard Son Of An American)!BEN is saying that enic are trying to sell to americans as soon as the new stadium is confirmed [plans, they dont actually want to build it] and that they want out. twitter though so not sure if can be posted in here or if this is the right thread for it anyway
Kaboul is done with and the jury is very much out on Chiriches. I very much expect us to move for MM or Hector Moreno again next window.
That's precisely the problem though, if people read the accounts, or the reports of them, or took on board what people who have read them are saying then they'd know that the surplus has been going on precisely that. It's all in black and white, but instead people hold forth with their ignorance, believing that somehow Levy and Lewis are siphoning the surplus out of the club, but not bothering to make any effort to educate themselves.
