"Moutinho deal failed due to 15% players rights stake owned by a third party. Fee and personal terms agreed."

Edit: Here it is bigger "Moutinho deal failed due to 15% players rights stake owned by a third party. Fee and personal terms agreed."

I do not buy that crap. I'm not disputing the 3rd party ownership, but they would have known about that months ago. And, if they didn't there is something seriously wrong somewhere. I negotiate copyright in music, and if I was to announce to my client before a film/ad/game is to go live that 'oh shit sorry, we can't roll with this deal because I've just suddenly realised xyz owns 15% of the publishing' I would be asked why the hell did I not look into this before.....smacks of incompetence.

Hertyid updated us this afternoon that we weren't aware of the numbers involved, which made me think it had to do with the 15%. If this is true, then it's fucking amateur. End of.

It's an almost incomprehensible mistake considering all the time and money that go into these deals.

I did too - but had one eye on sky sports news.

I came when I was watching an Asian being pummeled by a bbc at the same time Jim fucking white was on my screen. I think I jizzed over Jim White...

white in name, white in nature....

Assume Levy and AVB have packed up and left now then...

Or a side note it looked like Levy turned up with his mrs at the lodge tonight - must be a good sign if she's recovered enough to sit through a deadline evening.

I'd hazard a guess a fuckload more than you appear too know. No one knows why this deal didn't go through, I'm not going to speculate, but I understand entirely DLs methods, not always right but the reason why the cub has maintained an upward trajectory since he came to Spurs.

He doesn't do it just for the profit, he does it to keep us a sustainable model, I don't go to watch a balance sheet either but I understand why it has to be like that for us to remain competetive.

Some of you lot deserve ****s like Peter Ridsdale, you really do.
OH just do one. Crowing because we don't succeed does not give you the right. The difference between us and Mouts could not have been massive for it to get this far. Spurs would not have ceased to exist as a viable business for sealing that deal. Ourhopes have though. We have sent out a huge message this window...

WE DON'T WANT TO WIN THE LEAGUE OR GET IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. WE'LL JUST GO BACK TO BEING 6TH-11TH SPURS THANKS. COULD HAVE DONE IT BUT MIGHT HAVE HAD A SLIGHT NEGATIVE ON THE BALANCE SHEET ONE YEAR - should have gone to specsavers - so short sighted.

Kane gone now and Daniel and AVB still at the lodge... Mouts may well be dead but I bet we have a loan deal or two on the way! Jeselu anyone?

tbf, I'd imagine Levy doesn't personally take care of all the financial back-ground work on potential transfers. I'm sure he has some little Oxbridge minion to do that for him. Whoever that minion is, his head needs to roll

anyone think that maybe its not our fault, maybe porto fucked us?

Very possible that they and/or the minority owners did. People awfully quick to believe it's Levy's fault when there are multiple other parties who could have changed the terms at last minute.

No. I appreciate what he has done for the club but since the Frazier Campbell fuck up I've never been a member of the 'Levy is a god' club. This window has just underlined that for me.

If we get an offer from someone who would be willing to buy the club and make some proper investments without pussy footing over the finer details until the other parties either get sick of it or die of boredom, I'd like to see ENIC accept.

But no I'm not calling for him to go. I just feel he's cut off his nose to spite his face in this window by trying to be too clever. Once he made the decision to sack Harry he needed to ensure that he did all he could to back AVB. In my opinion he hasn't done so.

Norwich should be fun

Agreed. Especially the bolded bit.

I think we will beat Norwich though.

It is fairly amateur especially as AVB will have known about it and will have told Levy about it. I think thats why AVB was talking about the whole deal being difficult. But thats why it required proper planning and more than a day of negotiations. Levy fuck up and yes the man is not beyond criticism.

Overall good window just three glaring gaps still to be sorted out - cover on the wings, a proper back up striker and a creative playmaker.

If a 3rd party owns 15% of Moutinho, wouldn't they have a "say" whether he gets sold or not and at what price? Just like preferred stock in a company? It's possible the minority rights holders didn't want to sell and that's what blocked the deal.

Dempsey's a great signing given the circumstances. No one should be complaining about that. Good cover for any of the front three and makes up somewhat for the goals that we will be losing from Rafa. It's a separate issue from Moutinho so shouldn't be equated in that way. That said, it doesn't make up for the failure to sign Moutinho or an alternate replacement for Modric, and I hope that Levy doesn't think that it will. I'd like to think that he'll endeavour to make up for it in January but we've been here so many times before. I doubt we'll see much business in Jan at all.

I really believe that Moutinho would have made the difference for us this season, but as usual we're just that one or two players short which will probably result in us being those one or two points short. It's an endless cycle. Frustrated.

Amateur is an understatement. Appreciate the work Levy has done, but I'm starting to question things....
