I don't understand why every year (twice a year) I expect anything more, all business done on deadline day is desperation in my book, otherwise it would be concluded earlier.

Dempsey reminds of me of the signing of Murphy, or Pienaar. They are good players, its opportunistic, but really its not an addition we critically need. With Sigurdsson and Dembele signed, I don't think we needed another offensive midfielder. It's fine saying Dembele is now our playmaker, but to expect him to dictate play is too much in my opinion. I don't see him picking the ball up off the centre backs, partnering and interchanging with Sandro, combining ability on the ball with the addition of helping out the holding/defensive midfielder when we have to sit back and soak up the pressure.

I feel one of those three signings will be unhappy with a lack of game time come the end of the season, just like Murphy, Pienaar, Krancjar, and we will lament the lack of a natural playmaker.

dempsey is a good player yess.... BUT after all that hype of levy backing avb, getting some avb signings in... and also losing modric and rafa... yes we have dembele dempsey and sig... but still, do they sound like avb's men?

Dempsey is good business but it doesn't change the fact that we sold rafa and ballsed up Mouts.

Lloris is a fine addition too but this whole window (and football in general at the moment) has made me feel completely deflated. Sigh.

People who are slating Dempsey before he has even played for the club can f' right off. Don't blame Dempsey that we didn't sign Moutinho.

One thing I know about Dempsey is the guy is not only talented, but is tough as nails and will run his ass off for 90 minutes. Will also have a point to prove to show he can cut it at a club like Tottenham. You got my backing Clint.

And he only cost 6 mill.

Honestly guys lets look on the bright side ..

We still have a brilliant squad ..

I have all the faith in the world in Dembele being our creative midfielder and pulling the strings ..

A huge shame about moutinho :( really gutted.

But always look on the bright side .. The squad is still very very talented .. I really believe in dembele we have our star player and will shine ..

Coys .. Lets get behind the team 2moro..

Ok so weve lost VDV - creativity and guile. We look to have gained Dempsey - hard work and versatility. Counts for a hell of a lot in the EPL. How often have we seen less technical teams beat us by simply wanting it more. Thats what wins you trophied aswell IMO.

i bet big boy levy will feel proud of himself when adebayor and dembele get injured against norwich. avb must be well chuffed, he's got the absolute best he could have had. not even signing ronaldo and messi would have beaten signing dempsey. well done levy, what a coup!

Dempsey for VdV is not ideal, but we could do worse. He is a good player and I'm sure Levy and AVB together have identified him as a target.

I reckon we're in for a good season, especially if we get a striker now in the last hour. Last minute deal with Madrid perhaps?

So, are we signing AVB's targets to produce future success or are we just using this window to annoy the bin dippers and disassemble BMJ's squad?

Wouldn't it have been easier to stick with Jol and just heat WHL by burning £50 notes for the past 4 years?

Ugh. I'm not going to stamp and moan about no Moutinho but I really do think selling VDV was a mistake. I can't blame DL for potential problems bringing in a player, especially one with less than straightforward ownership issues. However, VDV was our player, contracted to us and we've sold him for £10m and are seemingly about to lose out on the CM replacement the club has been after since before AVB even officially took the helm. That is on DL.

DL, fix it please or this will be another costly blunder and one which we seemingly skipped into willingly.

I got some shit for

"I already hate dempsey... Fuck fucking dempsey... Fuck everything. Fuck my life. Fuck spurs. I'm getting a VDV hamburg shirt. Fuck off.... Just fuck off."

Which is fair enough, it was childish... But Im so fucking angry about what the fuck is going on. So fucking angry. Seriously, anyone who doesnt think modric + vdv out and dempsey + dembelle in isnta fucking car crash needs to "go support someone else". fucking retards.... Moutinho or im going to be furious. Ive always backed levy, for fucking years. years and fucking years. but if you let this happen you need to go.

Have you noticed? All these Dempsey fans that have come out of nowhere, are the same forum members who wanted Steven Fletcher, utterly clueless.

Thank you. But I think the proof will be in the pudding.

If Mouts was announce and then Dempsey announced would that make you happier?

What has been out net spend over the past 2-3 years as this now getting beyond a joke. Don't get me wrong, Dempsey is a GOOD player but we should be after GREAT players.
Thats the point though isnt it? Great players want great wages and Champions league. The only way we can hope to get them is to wait until the last minute in the hope that one of the Liga giants or MU/Bayern etc haven't come in for them or the moneybags at Chelscum or Citeh.

He can't be 3rd top scorer- he scored 17 last year and 14 the year before- think he'll do well for us though

The level of childishness is getting ridiculous, we will sign who we sign and we will get on with it. You may be disappointed with signings but there is no reason to act like a small child having a tantrum. I personally believe we have had a pretty good window, not as good as it could be, but good nevertheless.

I don't know anymore

I'm still over the moon with the Dembele signing, he is going to be a star mark my words.

No gaurantees about Moutinho, whether he'd settle down in the prem etc.

Modric & VdV WANTED out so what can we do?

Just think some people like the exotic

Then AVB need to man up and realise this is not chelsea, city, psg, here we have to work hard with what we have got, he better realise there is no managerial easy street to success with £££ spent without thought.

Vertonghen, Sig, Lloris, Dempsey, Demebele and Ade are all very good signings that have been brought in. He has more than a good enough squad. We can all bitch about not getting Moutinho but thats one player that would have made the summer great business rather than very very good.

Mate, what kinds of conversations do you think Levy had with AVB to get him here? I bet he's furious at what he's seen with the mouts deal. Way to fuck your new manager off.
