Ha! Said as much yesterday. Knew that was the plan by levy all along.
And honestly, I said I was Ok with that yesterday. I didn't think Motuinho would happen today. What I didn't see was VDV leaving though. Not without Moutinho or someone else for the CM coming in. We're light now.

If we manage to avoid the injury mocker Gods this season, as we did with Ade for most of last season, we'll be alright. If we don't then we'll be looking at Jenas.

A comment on SSN saying that this is Levy's window - and with Demsey in I must agree. We've signed JV, Siggy, Dembele, Dempsey, Lloris, Adebayor (total spent around 50 million), sold Modric, VDV, GDS, loaned out Rose, Bostock (around 50 million in sales so net spent around 0). To be honest this is phenomenal with the quality we got in.

all i say is we CAN push it through.

if you can find my first ever post, i stated spurs are the only club to have an Overdraft JUST for this day. hence if we need to, we can cough up within 30 seconds. It really is a danny levvy day.

Fingers crossed mate, would be the icing, we need him!

Right, I've shaken myself down and whilst we will miss the guile and craft of Modric and VdV, perhaps this will be compensated by work rate and hopefully an ability to go to tricky away games and boss it - we certainly don't look a soft touch now.

Ultimately, we have to believe that we will function better as a team with this personnel and obtain our goals this season which is to gain Champions League football and hopefully win a trophy or two.

Anyone going bonkers considered the problem with the Moutinho deal might be nothing to do with us and out of our hands?

totally. Look how long it took us to sell, modric. Porto could easily be playing the same game. It seems its odd that seemingly a fee was agreed.

We got one thing in our favour is that we can sign subject to medical. So we still got time to thrash out terms (And who is to say we havn't been doing that in the last few hours). I'm not sure how true the llorente stuff was, but i see dempsey as the back up option (abiet a very one. superb player).

We'll suffer injuries, we always do. Business end of the season will be heartbreak time again I suspect.

Guys I'm gutted to see VDV go, but he WANTED to and he doesn't FIT AVB's system. Dempsey does, and he scored 17 fucking goals last season for Fulham, and he can score more than that for us, and he doesn't have to go off in the 60th minute. What if Adebayor was injured, would you rather we be stuck without a forward who can play up front but still have VDV?

So anyone who is being a **** on here tonight, and there are a fair few, need to shut the fuck up and get over it! The only disappointment should be not signing Moutinho but hearing people say Dempsey is worse than Jenas or other stupid shit that people have been saying is FUCKING RIDICULOUS.

Goals from the side: last seasons facts -
Adebayor - 17 goals, 9 assists
Bale - 10 goals, 10 assists
Sigs - 7 goals, 3 assists
Dempsey - 17 goals, 6 assists
Defoe - 11 goals, 1 assist

With Dembele and Sandro behind that (and Parker too), I'm optimistic about this season despite no Mouts...
Sigs joined a new team and played less than half a season and had to settle in that team and got around the same amount as dempsey, this transfer just smacks of us buying him and then struggling to get rid of him in 2 years

You can stick all the fucking stats you want up your arse... Losing Modric and VDV and getting Dempsey and Dembele is a car crash wrapped inside a nuclear explosion surrounded by a cloud of anthrax.
