I can't see why we would hold of making announcements for Spain winning the Euros, its like we are following an election not a football club. "Must release that story to get coverage on that issue that will win us the chicken badge vote for sure". Plus if the news is big then it will be a main focus anyway so no issues there and anything big announced today will get lots of coverage tomorrow - its not as if were all Spanish is it!

But if the rumours are true and someone is pumping 300 million into our club maybe they want maximum coverage to get their name out there

I just think the idea that all the players, (who were on holiday at the time and possibly spread far and wide over the UK and even the world) have been dragged in to meet the new manager, who hasn't even been named, without anyone getting wind of it either before or after the event is unlikely. Especially when they can all 'safely' meet him once they turn up for pre-season and the new manager's identity has been revealed.

Like I said, no offence, I'm not calling you or your mate fibbers, but it doesn't ring true to me. If I were to take a guess i'd say Livermore was on the wind-up.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that our new man has phoned most of the squad and introduced himself. Afterall if it is AVB he could do with a little bit of good PR with the players, there are bound to be a few that are sceptical, as there are among us.

Exactly.
No, I am inclined to believe that that announcement has been kept on ice for good reason. Vertonghen, Sig, maybe others? all being handled and possibly completed prior to such an announcement precisely to avoid a Man City type situation where everyone tries to squeeze every penny from us.

Assuming the investment rumours have any truth in them of course...

Because players would then see we are going places. Players we want to keep will think that they can achieve their hopes whilst at Spurs, and players that would not otherwise come may see us as an option, even though we don't have champions league.
