He said this last week back (someone asked him if he thinks we will spend all summer trying to sign him):

I answered the question specifically to if we will spend all summer trying to get him,which I said NO. Not that he isn't on our list...

Which to me implies it's either ready to be done quickly or we will refuse to dick around for the whole window this time and move on

But the quotes in Marca said that Bale hadn't spoken to Spurs about renewing. It is my humble opinion that this is 100% horse manure.

Just an FYI on this as I keep getting asked about it.
This has been ongoing for nearly 3 months. I see the press are acting like we have just made our interest known, this deal has been being negotiated for a while. Player has 12 months to go on a contract- we are not his only option, however with Neymar now confirmed and another forward to go into the club- player is available. This is not 'new' news.
If this can be concluded- Daniel will deserve a lot of personal credit.

If POTL is saying all this, I believe it all. Still the best ITK in my opinion. The Levy bashers should keep the gun powder dry for now.

It's nice to see the ITK merry-go-round is in full effect. I guess we where all so starved of positive emotions after seeing 4th slip away we may have, unintentionally, put a little tooo much belief in the 5th (almost) coming of Damiao and Bale signing a shinny new contract. My only issue is that if these two bits are indeed not to be, could we have not found out in a month or two..... Just to prolong that positive energy that was emanating from this thread. Doom and gloom should be saved for the last few minutes of the transfer window when we realise Darren Bent really will be resigned to lead our front line after we sold Ade for much money's to Monacao and the LD deal fell threw last minute...again.

I still believe.... Now I am going to go listen to Mark Snows X-fils theam song till my ears bleed and I pass out.

The fact Townsend will be in the squad next makes me highly doubt we're in for Tom Ince. They're very similar players from what I have seen.

We could certainly do with some more attacking options but I would hope for some players with a bit more intelligence than we already have.
