I Agree. But Where is the failure?

10 years ago we were nothing. Now we are one of the best teams in England. Always Improving, Just seems not quick enough for some people.

We've improved markedly, granted. But perhaps Levy/ENIC have reached their own ceiling? Can they take us to the next level? I have my doubts.

I know he's gone and not our worry for 6 months but where on earth is Gomes gonna fit in at Hoffenheim when they already have Wiese and a very good young gk in Casteels. also how desperate are Villa if they are taking Dawkins on loan....

Wiese is more concerned with his hair than actually guarding the goal.

In a FTSE company the CEO would resign or be sacked, as well as the middle manager.
I think if you actually look at where Spurs are now, financially, league table-wise and playing squad wise the 'CEO' would probably be taking home massive bonuses every year mate

Perhaps. But now isnt the ceiling. With FFP round the corner, and this alliance with Arsenal etc etc to push it through in the Premier league, we'd be silly to go out and make big losses now!

How are you sure of this ? Are you privy to all the financial ins and outs of the club ? No....of course youre not...your making assumptions based on guesses .....are you that dim that you think that levy personally keeps any money the club makes ??
HE IS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE CLUB....seriously mate, shouldn't you be at school?

Bit of a silly comment really but I put that down to the fact that you were a bit angry and had no real argument against what I was saying but its all about opinions and ours differ dont they.

Disagree. Financially he runs a steady ship but there aren't any huge profits for the shareholders. A company on the London stock exchange would've started asking questions by now IMO. League table wise we've done very well, but post CL qualification 2 years ago we could've pushed on and we haven't IMO. I believe there is even more potential for on the pitch success but that ENIC/Levy are not able to fulfil that potential. We've been conditioned to think Tottenham is a small club, somehow 'lucky' to be mixing it with the big boys. However I don't believe that.

I juts wanna say Dax. I do get your points. and I can see why you would think the things you do. I am not gonna tar you with the 'Neggy' brush like some people do on here, Cause you have your opinion and mostly you articulate your opinion well. But I think your 'opinion' on Levy sometimes is based on Clairvoyancy rather then cold hard facts on why and where Levy has let the club down. he has made mistakes of course but his mistakes haven't cost us like Portsmouth's or leeds' or even Villa. we are always improving and until i see that change, I'm pretty happy

Turns out Ryan was absolutely right that we have got a new number nine.

Welcome back Harry.

We all knew it, but confirmed by Fulham:

@FulhamFC
Jol also confirms that Tom Huddlestone was close to joining, before Spurs pulled out

Yeah, although yours seems to be the opinion of a spoilt little kid who is crying because mummy and daddy only got him nine out of the ten present he demanded at Xmas...
Sometimes you should be grateful for what you have, because things could be a whole lot worse.

THIS. January TW is mainly for relegation threatened teams. The top half rarely buy in January. No surprise that QPR, Newcastle, West Ham et al were the busiest.

I believed in the LD hype for a short while last night. Got excited, got disappointed but a good nights sleep brings with it perspective. We are a long term project and upwards of £19million on one player is a risk too far. We move on. In AVB I trust. COYS!

Sensible post. Thoroughly enjoyed the 'will he, won't he sign' - deep down knew it wasn't gonna happen.
Maybe Ade will come back pumped up and ready to prove again how good we know he is with holtby providing him with deft passes?
Donation to follow... Great service SC

Fair enough fella. Get your point on the clairvoyance, but IMO should we see a similar collapse in form this season as we did last, I won't be blaming the manager. Eventually we're all going to have to focus our attention upwards.

I'm disappointed about not getting a striker but we have to remember that this is a rebuilding process. I know we only have a final step to take to be a regular champions league team but that requires players that will cost £15m up every time we get the chequebook out. The club have decided to focus on youth development backed up with early twenties players and bargain deals and I don't see that changing until we get the new stadium built or we get a sugar daddy. The way i see it now is that we have to be patient and it will take time, but hopefully one day we will be where we belong looking down our noses at the scum(make your own choice on who that might be).
