As far as buying another Argentinian?
I'm more inclined to bring Lamela's high school sweetheart over or even just some stupidly hot Argentinian chick, just to y'know, 'spend time'. That might help proceedings and would most likely be cheaper than signing a player to hold his hand. Jeez!

we need a LB in this window, whether its just cover or a first starter it doesn't matter, its a must that we keep Verts at CB and keep the balance of having a natural Lb in the team at all times!

Would be nice to sign a young up and coming target man forward to be in and around the squad and ready to step up for when Ade gets too old (we may have a youngster already, i have doubts on Kane)

Would seriously push for Shaw or the swansea LB.

Forward wise...Benteke would be nice (obviously) but prob not available yet... But I would be on the phone to chelsea about agreeing a deal for the summer for Lukaku. now AVB has gone (apparently they had bad history) he may be interested in coming!! if this deal could be done then I would stick with what we have now until the summer.

If we managed top four and added (whether now or in the summer) Lukaku, Shaw and make a push for Phil Jones (i rate Jones and if United dont get CL it may be a possibility). While Selling Dawson (if Kaboul is fit and staying), Naughton, Sigs, Livermore and Maybe Holtby (fan of the lad but we have too many with Carroll coming back)

I think we have the makings for a consistant top 1-4 finish for years to come with a good mixture of experience and youth

As much as I agree with the positions that need strengthening, as we do need another LB (I'm not sold on Rose) and a good young forward, I'm not convinced by your targets. I think Shaw and Lukaku are completely unobtainable. The second we get close to Shaw one of the big money twats will gazump us. Even United might go for him if Baines stays, and although they're doing shite right now, they're still a bigger team and a bigger draw than us. Lukaku would be amazing but Chelsea wouldn't sell him to us in a million years. Why would they strengthen a rival?

As for Jones....don't rate him. Jones just seems like a younger version of Dawson to me. A headless chicken of a defender who will throw himself in front of the ball for Queen and country but has no brain to match that brawn.

Yeah heard about it on Talksport but just sounds like paper talk tbh. They were saying its been rubbished by some sections.

Plus they've apparently been given the green light to sign Cavani for £50m in the Summer, hmmm lol

Or we could sign Marcos Rojo from Sporting, to solve our centre- and left back problem.

We haven't been linked with anyone this window lol
Its frustrating because we clearly need a couple of players but if we dont sign anyone the players we have will hopefully settle in!

I really want to see lamela get a run in the team I think the boy could be class!

I agree but I can see Levy loaning out half a dozen players on deadline day and leaving us short as per usual.

The most frustrating thing about the Lamela situation, is that we can all see when there is a place for him in the starting 11, or when he should be coming off the bench... but Chadli gets the nod instead.

He's met DL, he wants the job (seems clear to me) and has publicly said he's likely to walk through the door if it's opened to him after the world cup. Reading between the lines isn't too tricky on this one imo.

I don't think my position is 'wild' in any sense.

Long term he's right up DL's alley and I'm sure all of the lights are green on this one for the summer and I'm pretty sure tim is savvy to it.

Anyway, gotta go out.

I think this is about right, and agree Sherwood knows this also, Sherwood realizes he has to get Champions League to stand a chance of keeping the job (He has stated that recently to the press), if he doesn't make the fourth spot I think Levy will go with LVG..

If Sherwood was to make it to the promised land and got sacked it would be very harsh and poor from Levy me thinks…. Sherwood would do very well out of this anyway with increased reputation and a large pay off I would imagine if he was let go with Champs league

Lamela has only just got through his honey moon period (excitement of new country) and is probably going through a stage of culture shock.

Often after the first few months people go through a 'what the hell I am doing in this place' and reminisce about where they were before(while slagging off the place you currently are because its different). Especially with no language skill.

I think slowly it will pick up and he will start to adapt to his environment and become settled. Unless he has no interest in learning the language. He will need time, before we know how he will perform. He is not a seasoned professional that has traveled around the world a few times. He has done it once but moving to a country were you can speak is very different to a country where you can not.

Also an italian lifestyle might be much more similar to an Argentinian lifestyle compared to the Brit culture. So it would be crazy to give up on him now. Next season is where we should start worrying if things don't improve.

So the ITK about him being unhappy could be correct but doesn't mean he will leave and that he will feel that way forever. I wouldn't be surprised if in a years time he loves it here.

So a 21 year old kid is moving to his second foreign country in 4 years where he doesn't speak the language and is not at his best professionally and people think he's a failure?

Jesus fucking wept.

The most stressful situation for most of you at 21 was if your Mum was going to walk in on you wanking into her panties and you have the gall to shit on Lamela for not being Bale 2.0?

You're right there, Italy has had a big influence on Argentina - more than half the population have some Italian ancestry. Added to that, the Spanish and Italian languages have a lot of similarities.

Can't understand the hatred towards Chadli. He's been here for only half a season in which too he's been injured for a couple of games and when played is being put on the wings when his favoured position is just behind the striker. Lennon has been here for a decade but has never performed consistently but we still use him cause he has his merits so why not give Chadli the same treatment? Atleast give the lad a chance

This must be the most boring Transfer Window in Tottenham's history. Even when we were signing rubbish players it was more exciting!!

I thought Chadli played well... running into 6 yard box, skiping pass players and drawing defenders away and defend when required.....

He probably needs a few more games to improve his movement and shooting.
