I'm not sure levy is worried about his reputation with the fans. What's he ever done to show he is?

If he is doing what he thinks is the best for the club then he is right not to be worried but what we fans are saying. Most of us are far too emotionally involved as far as Spurs are concerned and would quickly bankrupt the club in our pursuit of success.

Hope we can get this done, not confidant at all though, that's not being negative that's just looking at our previous with this sort of thing which makes more sense. We always seem to bid just short with these sort of players. I get the feeling if they wanted 24m we wouldn't be going above 22m or we would of broadly agreed a price and then gone in with a lower offer later. something tells me these sort of deals are lip service to the fans. Hopefully not the case this time but until we can pull one of these off you would have to think its more than just a possibility.

Reads like poetry from a and c. Beautiful.

lets look on the positives...

we were already given permission to speak to soldado. Meaning our offer is acceptable to some extent and that valencia either want or need to sell (we know it is need)

We have already agreed terms with soldado so the player wishes to join us or at the very least likes us in some capacity.

there is no competetion for soldado. Liverpool would have to sell suarez first to raise money valencia seemingly do not have the time to wait.

Keep the faith valencia will crumble in this game of poker..

it is nothing like moutinho/ porto where they got cold feet and accidently on purpose sent the wrong paperwork we could not prepare for that and it was not our fault.

I will be amazed f we do sign Soldado - whenever we get involved in bids higher than our self imposed limit of £17 million we always seem to find a way not to do the deal (which is never our fault) - they moved the goal posts, wouldn't accept payment structure, 3rd party ownership, etc etc. Can see the same happening here - really, really hope I'm wrong as he would make such an incredible difference to us.

Agree totally with the exception of the "Liverpool need to sell Suarez first",....why do we assume that? They may not be where they were (thankfully), but a £26M signing is well within their means surely..

What about Arsenal coming in as it looks like Suarez is a dead end now, and they are looking in the same bracket for strikers.

While I agree with you on most part - certainly would not rule out a bid from Pool before they sell Suarez. For all reasons, they may not sell Suarez before they are sure they can get a replacement. Its very much possible they could come up with the money for Soldado. I am not being pessimistic but just cannot rule out a bid from Liverpool before they sell Suarez.

If they bid and/or buy Soldado or any top striker before selling Suarez they will be screwed on the price for Suarez.

SSN saying Arsenal bid £40,000,001.00 to trigger his release clause.
No thats a clause is NOT release clause - its a clause that will allow Arseal to talk with Suarez - thats my understanding.
Supposedly the Yanks Henry fella is now pissed off with Arsenal for their £40,000,001.00 bid...

Henry seems to have said - 'What do you think they're smoking over there at Emirates?'

Fair play to Arsenal though, that is a funny offer
