If we sell Bale but got Lamela I'd be well pleased, let alone all the rest that have come in. Never known a window like it for Spurs (quality-wise I mean, not that summer we signed Atouba and a dozen other average players), and I'm 35.

Anyone concerned about SSN's reporting of Willian stalling should note that the same 'sources' just said Anelka walked out and told everyone he was retiring - now it turns out he's on compassionate leave. If (IF) this is true, that's quite a monumental fuck up by SSN and sums up their massive ****iness.

Even if it's not true, they're still ****s. Unwatchable during transfer windows with ****s like White & Seth. Only watchable after September or unless Nick Collins stacks it.

LOL - and yet some journalist dude called braziliandoodaa posted on page 34-ish that SSN investigates all its reports. WALOBs

POTL has really come back into incredible form this window, and i'm not just saying it because he's putting our fears to rest, but just his info in general has been really clear and to the point and most importantly, accurate

POTL very accurate because he waits until its miles down the line. That's completely fine, his ITK works great when combined with others, but without others, we'd barely have anything to talk about on a daily basis.

When was the last time POTL gave us the first heads up on a player ? Other respected ITKs take risks on their 'record' by giving us tasty morsels miles in advance when talks may only be preliminary.

POTL is valuable at calming our nerves as moves get over the line. He is the footballing equivalent of a lethal finisher that blasts the ball into the net two yards out from goal when it's already heading there.

He deserves praise, but so do all the other good ones that keep us updated on a daily basis and give us info on all the potential moves even the ones that dont come to pass

Each ITK plays their part. I wouldn't expect POTL to come out and say we are scouting xyz, as its not his/her style or calling. POTL is believed to be club side, if not a club mouthpiece. Plays the part of firefighter when people are losing their shit. Others pop up earlier in the transfer process, and are therefore more prone to being 'wrong' (although their info might be spot on at the time, just things change so quickly).

POTL was confident Bale was staying earlier in the window, and hasn't really commented since apart from very recently suggesting stances have changed.

It's amazing that we are looking at a scenario where we're selling our best player (as usual) but we're spending all the money on great other players! We've seen this not happen so many times that to actually see it happen is quite strange.
And one half of a European tie and everyone is now gonna want to keep Townsend.

Willian will need a work permit and international clearance as no EU passport. My guess is that tonight's game plus that is holding up announcement.

If Lamela has a Spanish passport, no need for a work permit. Just international clearance from UEFA/FA.

Lot of reports about Bale being announced tomorrow. It'd make a ton of sense from a PR perspective to announce Willian/Lamela tomorrow as well. It may be ill-advised, but clubs can announce signings without having the work permit completed. For instance, it just happened this summer with Wilfried Bony I believe.
