Totally agree. The theory that Peace is somehow happy to see Berahino not playing is utter rubbish.
Agreed. I'm sure Peace's plan involved Berahino playing/scoring week in and week out, and basically doing what Vardy has done, So he'd now be worth £35-40m

This window reminds me of that Bjørk song: it's so quiet... Shhh... Shh...

Anyway, i'm only hoping for transfers to get my doze. Levy would do anything for Poch - so its all up to Poch. And I trust him. So should you. Tits.

Peaces audience is west brom fans. We've already seen he's thick skinned, and won't care much what the wider football world thinks when spurs leak that the undisclosed fee was significantly less than our Summer offer.

Their fans will think 15m is good money, they know the players head is gone, and next years tv dough will more than make up for any shortfall.

If we want the deal done, i don't think the risk comes from the bigger boys, more from the likes of Norwich, soton if thdy lose mane, maybe palace , who are all willing to spend and could spin things out or fack them up even if the player is less willing to consider their offers.

Does h have enough in the tank to deal with the foxes in the meantime? Lets hope so.

How do you know that the club hasn't put a bid in for another striker?

apparently we have some young kid from Ebsfleet (any lucky he will turnout to be the next Kane/Vardy) but the 1 bid I want to hear that's gone in, is for Berahino, and if that had happened we would of heard about it by now.

Tracey played on the wings while with the u18s in the US as a trialist. That will probably be his place in the academy the rest of the season. Maybe some u21 appearances. His signing has nothing to do with the first team at the moment.

As people have mentioned, if he ran his contract down he would WBA would still get 10 mill odd from tribunal for Berahino so Peace still holds a few cards. Stupid not to sell him how though. He may well want a desperate buyer end of window rather than now though. Which doesn't do us good

Actually WBA would get ZERO.

Berahino turns 24 on the 4th August 2017, a few weeks after his contract expires.

Once a player turns 24 no compensation fee is required.

Pulls wants to spend on the team now, and spending next year's TV money is a gamble since its not guaranteed - the league is too close.

If Peace pushes it to the end of the window it could really backfire. Like when Levy sold Defoe to Portsmouth for £7m (18 months remaining), the club no longer holds all the cards.

Any more messing about I reckon Pulls could walk.

You absolutely sure about this? He would still be 23 according to your thoughts when his contract finishes (end of this season?) Wiki says this...Born: August 4, 1993 (age 22), Bujumbura, Burundi

*Shoot me - contract length correct!!

windy: Re: Yahaya. Been told we won't be pursuing this one further - don't think they were overly impressed, and it would be very tricky to get a permit, etc.

wasn't this chap expected to be something a bit special? I thought we were just waiting for him to reach a certain age before finalising it all?

He'd impressed in a World youth tournament, loads of kids do (Coulibaly did too for an example from our recent past). You cant predict the future but he's nothing more than a promising talent, like thousands of others out there, and he wasn't deserving of such hype. Though the mystery around him probably didn't help that.

Not 100% sure but seems logical to me at least.

So long as he doesn't sign with a new club before his 24th birthday, then no transfer has taken place at the requisite age.

They probably end up extending it through the window in situations like these because otherwise clubs could very well get screwed by collusion.

I thought SB was refusing to sign a new contract so how can they extend it?
He means the FA would extend the "rule" to the end of the window, so if a team signed him during the window after his contract expired but after he turned 24 (after 4th August 2017), due the fact that he was 23 when his contract expired, WBA would be entitled to compensation.

It's not gonna get to that stage anyway. He will not be at west brom next season, whatever happens
