I hope we get a replacement in before Modric goes so we don't get ripped off because they know we need a creative midfielder and have money. My other worry is will Bale kick up a fuss when Modric goes creating the same affect we had last summer / start of season?

I doubt it as he's been talking about next season already and given Modric's antics last window i don't think anyone in the team will be surprised if he goes. I'd imagine the whole Croatian pack will be gone within the next few weeks.

Two bad days in a month, HR and Modric. Even if it is Sahin (and I've seen no Itk linking us with him so far), he won't be able to come straight in and do the job like Luka, that's crazy. Just hope ALL the money will be available to spend by the new manager and that they have someone already lined up to replace him. He'd need to be a pretty fucking special player, if we're losing Modders, I'd want a better player than Sahin tbh.

Is it Bobbins that has "Hope is the quintessential delusion of the Spurs fan..." as his sig? I feel that.

Nobody is going to be able to come straight in and do Luka's job. That is why Real Madrid are looking to buy him and why Manchester United have been linked with him. If there was someone else who could and was cheaper, do you not think Real Madrid would be buying them instead?

You'd like a better player than Sahin? Who? Xavi, Alonso? In terms of possible replacement, Sahin looks like one of the best out there. However this isn't a Modric replacement thread so I'll leave it there.

As i said i'm not in a position to pass judgement on a player after watching one match... Moutinho passing looks great! Is he as mobile as Mods... IMO... NO! Do you need to be mobile in the Premiership? I think so...

We must be thinking of different instances then, because in the one I was referring to he kept up no problem.

The issue is still manager.

Modric leaving is of course more than likely and the ITK is not surprising, but would Modric not stay if the right man came in? Still... I guess Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho would always top that.

But a new manager is likely to determine what players we can attract. If Blanc or AVB becomes manager then you would be hopeful that adequate replacements could be made because there will be good players interested in playing for that manager.

That's what profile buys you and that's why sometimes it's more key than getting the best tactician or whatever. Liverpool have gone for a promising manager and are clearly able to still wield their name and funds to get some good players, but i do not see any star signings going there this year.

Funds permitting, it is possible to think that players like Lloris for example could be a realistic proposition if Blanc was in charge.

As for suggestions on a Bayern player who missed a penalty... well, Schweinsteiger would be a better replacement than one could hope for, but that ITK is now rather old and as for pipe dreams, I think it's fair to say that talking Schweinsteiger is a pipe full of hard ass drugs. Because only on crack cocaine would we see that coming to fruition.

Modric leaving is a blow of course and JJ is this morning not the bearer of good news, but we expected it really. Will AVB be happy about that though? If he was after Modric last summer and he sees best players leaving before he starts...?! Though one would assume that any manager would be happy with around 50m to play with (Modric sale plus approx usual chest of funds)

It seems we are all awaiting the France vs Spain game, hoping that we see movement post that. But what happens if France wins?! What happens if they lose but this time next week still no sign of a manager?!

Long weeknd ahead for sure, let's hope England pull of a win to at least keep the English contingent on here happy.

As a matter of fact, you had that ITK yesterday. And it was also first hinted at the end of May, in fact, The Goat posted it again on Monday so there's been plenty of opportunity for everyone to have their say about it in this thread. And they have. Several times over. So you tell me.......How many times should we regurgitate it? Also, it isn't so much a case of 'rules', more having a bit of consideration for others who don't want to scroll through pages of exactly the same stuff, posted by exactly the same people, that they first read at least twice over already.

We've provided a thread for it and i'm asking that it now go in there simply because there are a lot of people accessing the site on mobile devices and we don't want then getting RSI, they'd never be able to have a good high quality barclays again.
