He's got the right to his opinion but I find him rather dismissive of anyone who isn't completely against Levy. His constant bashing of Levy is a bit tedious.
Yes. I'm normally most offended by the standard of his writing. Ever since I started posting in earnest on Spurs forums in about 2004, he keeps popping up. Always the sae message. I genuinely think were we to do the triple, he'd bang out an article that night saying, "this changes nothing."

Certainly I don't think that he'd care to see Levy get any credit for it. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that Levy is beyond reproach but neither do I think that he warrants the level of criticism aimed at him on there.

I have my own bones to pick with Conehead but yes, as much nut-hugging goes on, there are some people turning a dangerous shade of puce when discussing him. 99.9% are thankfully in the middle. Call him a twat when he is and don't when he isn't. Fair enough really.

He's a shock jock, extreme opinions and headlines purely for clicks and revenue.

Basically he's Adrian Durham.

You think we hired Mitchell to find overpriced EPL players? Or that hiring him should make Levy less concerned about over paying ?

I completely agree with your stance on football tourists, I got caned on here a year or so ago for saying I'd rather sit behind some football tourists than some of the ignorant whining wankers from Cheshunt that I end up listening too on the train home.

But isn't the problem with using Wembley the FA, not Levy ? Aren't there limits on games held there that we need to circumnavigate ?
I thought he was hired to find good players at a cheap price, like he did at Southampton.

That's a lie. It was 5m up front, and we upped it to 6m on the last day
Even the OS statement talks about it
Classic Levy.
But anyway we should not be chasing these kind of overpriced players, with Mitchell around.

The OS statement talks about structured payments and how they are common. I think it's accepted that Peace refused to take our calls for the last few hours. He was pissed off with the structuring. For me it's not beyond reason, and it's what I've heard rumoured (I'm not ITK in anyway), that we were confident of the deal because if Peace refused the structure of the deal we knew that we could just stump up the cash. Doing that you just amortise it over 4/5 years in your books to spread the spend.

Peace was pissed off because our 1st and 2nd offers clearly said to him that Levy wasn't interested in signing Berahino at all.

Not surprised he refused to speak to Levy after that and took the stand he did.

The 2 bids on the final day from Levy were just to appease the fans.

So why are you annoyed about "typical" Levy trying not to pay astronomically inflated prices then ?

We bought 5 players. None of them on deadline day. Why are you angry about the one we didn't buy on deadline day.

Paying transfers in staged payments is what every normally structured football club (so all bar a couple) does. Why is this "classic Levy" ?

Of course, that's certainly it.

Peace obviously thought more teams would come in for his 22 year old drunk driving striker, but that never materialised. We were happy to wait, thinking ourselves that we were clearly the best option he was going to get.

I think the window went well, we have options. Still need a CF and and DM but that's really about it. No squad is ever perfect.

youve drawn me in here Bus, but youre no mug you already know the answers to your own questions. at the start of the window id say everyone wanted dm and or cf reinforcements.

i and many others didnt think for a moment that we couldnt get someone in to play cf in pochs system, to play in the cups, come on as a second striker particulary v the park the bus teams weve perenially failed to put away under poch at the lane. able to play wide would be a bonus. bera ticked most if not all these boxes, and is good enough to put an off form hk under pressure. we need competition for all places, however good and injury free he has been to date.

two months later we somehow remain in this precarious position. levys lowballing, and lower than required initial downpayment meant he pissed the selling club off and we missed out, had no plan b. i see some fans are optimistically predicting, with no evidence at all to support, that our wide forwards can do the job if hk is out. and even pressure him for the shirt. good for them, but i cant see it. given our competitive advantages, not the way the board sometimes does its more expensive business, we should never find ourselves in such a predicament. qarabag and the goons in the cups will be very interesting. whats pochs plan b for the cups?

I'd guess njie will be up front in the cups. Maybe we should wait and see how he does before writing them off?

Because he his doing his late transfer shit again.
He was told by Poch back in April he wanted players in early. There has been plenty of time for identifying targets. 2 players one of them a back up striker have been bought late in the window. They will be playing catch up because they've missed preseason.
Can't afford a target, move on ffs. How many managers is he going to screw over doing this kind of shit.

You been on holiday mullers?

Anyway not sure about the moving on. We bid for ings, martial (allegedley), werner, son and njie. Anymore moving on we would probably be signing carlton cole. Still don't know why we didn't go for austin or demba ba. I know it would be a risk with injuries but you know they'd get goals.

Who knows how much freedom he has though and what targets he is identifying?
Did he identify Son as a target? I doubt it.

Why? I know we have been looking at him for a while but he does seem to fit what poch was looking for.
