Before Levy, in the premier league years, we were averaging a 10/11th place finish. Since Levy became chairman we've averaged 7th believe it or not. However, the last four years we haven't finished outside 4/5th.
So we have made progress under Levy. Even with selling Berbatov and Keane for £52mill and bringing in Pav and that Man Utd work experience boy. Whether we can continue to progress remains to be seen, I do hope so...
He's been chairman for 10 years, and I think it will be at least another 3 years before we're sitting in our new stadium. That, for me, is his biggest mistake. The stadium should have been a priority from day one - he's been talking about it for 10 years.
Honestly, if it wasn't for chelsea and man city being run like toys we would be in the top 4 pretty much every season, you can't blame levy for that.
We have a great squad of players, amazing training facilities and hopefully a new stadium and not to long ago we were absolute dross, either people are too young or don't want to remember that.
Is he perfect no, but i still maintain he is the best chairman in the league.
Of course the article is full of speculation and hampered by a 'gung ho' view on paying wages and fees...spending other peoples money is always easy.
What does concern me is that we sometimes do seem to have a shotgun approach to targets rather than pick top targets and go for them with all guns blazing. Some other teams appear much better at that. But of course these observations are only based on the rumours we are fed
The article is a load of tosh but just out of curiosity, if the anti Levyites get their wish and he/Enic leaves the club, then what? What's the plan? Oil tycoon or the latest FSG/Randy Lerner/Gold&Sullivan?

You bet your bottom dollar he is...bluddy bald-midget long-arms-short-pockets amateur-tampering-fool piece of sheeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiitttttttttttte!
I say all true fans should capture a stickleback, take to a taxidermists, surround said monster and pummel him to death and beyond with their appropriately proportioned stickleback clubs - ¡Ay, caramba!
No. He's not perfect and, at times, maddeningly frustrating but we are where we are because of him. We haven't just turned around the club's fortunes on the pitch or finances by accident. In fact, it's so difficult to what he's done that clubs in stronger potions have been slowly slipping back yr after yr and most clubs do exactly what we used to do...haphazardly bounce from one average season to the next.
I don't know why this has reared its head again, seemingly because in the 17 minutes, or whatever it roughly is, since Benteke announced he wanted to leave Villa and we were linked we haven't signed him and people are already panicking that we have missed out
90-95% of what he has done in the running of the club you can't argue with. We have made a lot of progress. I think there are things we could do better when it comes to transfers (not necessarily about splashing the cash and how Levy operates, but more to do with how we identify targets), but on the whole he is doing a good job and, bar an multi billionaire suddenly wanting to buy us, I fail to see who could do a better job in all truth.
Prepare for snarky jibes to be sent your way, mpickard. The same kind of shit that was thrown at BMJ until the mega-brains got their golden child Wendy Ramos in. He's not perfect, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
