I think its the exact opposite, he knows he won't get a contract anywhere near what he has now.

No chance in hell he agrees to termination now, we cant just 'cancel' it without his agreement and there would be huge tax implications to termination (for us 'normal' people it would be the first 30k tax free then everything over taxed in full at whatever your tax rate is. Any tax avoidance schemes he is using would also be null and void, so he will potentially lose hundreds of thousands over just sitting out his contract)

Then there's the issue he can't be registered for another club after today, so noone will sign him, meaning he loses access to training facilities and medical staff.

It's easy to say just release him, but it's just simply not possible unless he is planning to retire or suchlike making most of the above moot.

We don't know if he would say no to a termination. All we do seem to know is that he wants to wind down his contract and be a free agent.

If it was terminated today, for example, then I imagine he'd then be able to sign for another club at any time?

What is frustrating is that we must have known for quite some time that he isn't in our plans and as such more effort should have been made to move him on any way possible.

Don't do it to yourself mate, we get a long shot link at the end of every window and it never materialises. We aren't signing 4 players so if it will be anyone it would be a CB as Ange loves Gallagher and we are almost done with Johnson.

Christ on a bike, The bloke has been a great servant to the club and yes he may be on the wane now but the disrespect being thrown at Dier is shocking in my opinion. He may not play but he is a solid and intelligent bloke who I think would offer more being around than just tossed out if he cant find a move to suit him. State of some of the comments on here making me want to go all Will Smith and give it the take Eric Diers name out of yo mouths!!!

If it's terminated before the transfer window closes he can sign for whoever he wants even outside the transfer window. If we terminate it tomorrow he'd have to wait until the next transfer window so wouldn't be able to play until January.

Felix to Barca is almost there, contract has been agreed and deal is looking very close to being done. Marca are even jumping the gun a little and calling it done. The moment it is i'd expect them to come in for PEH. Will probably be sooner then we think.

People give Levy shit for being a hurdle to signing new players - if any of them came in here and saw the abuse being flung about I'd not want to come and play here.

Appreciate the efforts of our ITK, I appreciate updates and news but I'll watch from a distance, ta much.
