We've brought in Vicario, VdV, Maddison & Johnson who all arguably improve our starting XI.

Yes we've failed to shift the shite once again, but it's not anywhere near as bad as people are making out. Are we a couple of players short, yes we are. But the squad is at the start of a rebuild and it's going to take time.

I agree with almost everything, but I'm not sure I'd say Johnson improves the first XI. I'm hopeful I'll be convinced otherwise though.

Johnson isn't an issue here.

Rumour appears to be that there's a centre back also at the training ground doing medical etc., but we're still haggling on the deal. Not necessarily a bad thing.

I think the rebuild is very much far down the line. The last few windows have taken us a long way. Even some of the youngsters like Udogie who is a new signing for this season and then Sarr was the same last season. This is what we could get from the likes of Phillips and Veliz down the line. It's really coming together now with a very young hungry team to be coached by Ange. It's just a shame that the remaining part of the rebuild is at centre back and it looks like we still have to replace Dier and Sanchez (possibly Davies and Hojberg next year too). Other than that I feel we look strong and I'm looking forward to see certain players come good because of the system. Next summer should require around 4/5 signings and some more youth prospects. That should be more than achievable.

I mean...we have sold our star striker and havent replaced him with another CF, failed to shift the deadwood, left things too late again, left ourselves short in certain areas again especially in CB which we have known is our weakest area for years.

We read that we were after 2 CBs and wanted to Keep Kane...we sold him and have only got 1 CB in so far. We are now hearing the excuse that we have already spent the Kane money even though while he was here we read that we wanted to strengthen further and it wasnt to do with his impending sale.

Also the signings we have made, only Maddison is a sure thing. The rest are either cheap punts or players with potential (VDV admittedly looks a good buy 3 games in).

I wouldnt call it a particularly great window and if we hadnt started the season so well I could see the fans going nuts at Levy.

Disappointed about Gallagher but Hjojberg can do a job in there even if he isn’t ideal.

Considering he limped off the last game my greatest concern is who covers VDV. Sanchez cannot function on the left even to the point of just not falling over, Dier is either gone or way too slow, so that leaves Davies?

That really would be a new low for the club if we’ve got a player potentially doing a medical and mess him around at the last minute.
