I'm surprisingly zen about the state of play here - Hojbjerg can still play a key role in seeing out games and Johnson does offer a different (and needed) skillset down the right flank.

But, there's always that unwavering sense that we could have and should have done more.

I hope that within my lifetime we see the end of the window moved back to a couple of weeks before the season starts. I'm sure that the football media absolutely rake it in from desperate fans on days like today, which is why it is where it is, but it's an absolutely mental time to have it and leave clubs scratching about until the final 48 hours.

Trev would be awesome under Ange.
I know his bro and it's been a running fact/joke for an age that little bro is a beast

Looks like Bella-Kotchap is on the way to PSV on loan. If true, that'd be the end of their Sanchez pursuit. I'd say we're done lads (after BJ).
I’d like to say I’m surprised, but the same old bullshit. We’ve bought Johnson and nothing else with the Kane money, and are a CB injury away from disaster. Levy will never change, bare minimum every single time, and it’s always someone else’s fault. Don’t even get me started on only being able to sell one unwanted all window either. There is nothing wrong with our talent identification imo, when we’ve bought we’ve generally bought well. But the process is a disgrace

Let’s see.

we tried.
It’s hard in the summer window cos it’s hot, those other pesky clubs are also good at this shit
It’s complicated. Worse than a mortgage
There’s no value.
we tried again.
There will definitely be a ‘distorted market due to the emergence of Saudi league‘ added to the bingo card

There is just zero excuse for the CB situation. Absolute malpractice.

we aren’t bloated at CB. We are going to pay Dier off whether it’s salary to sit on the beach or a termination. We are one injury away from Sanchez or Davies at CB.

it’s criminal.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Do agent fees play a role in people not moving? Sure it used to easier shifting players before the larger agent fees got involved.

How do you feel about the centre backs ?

Why does everyone keep saying we didn't sign a CB?? Did the advent of the internet reduce everyone memory down to a 5 minute time span? We signed VDV and Phillips. No we didn't sign two seniors but I doubt VDV would have signed if he wasn't going to be first choice.
Window as a whole was actually very good (with exception to the Kane situation). We have fewer gaps in our squad and fewer questions to answer with the performances of Udogie, Royal and Porro at Fullback and we've had 13 players leave during this window.
Its a better window than some of our previous windows

Edit: I'd love to hear from those that disagree what their expectation was at the start of the window and how far we accomplished that.
