I'd say we're about 30 goals light
Let’s see. Hardly a big target for everyone else to beat …

We have had interest from some of the markets that are yet to close like Saudi and Turkey so it may be that we're hoping to push some players in those directions

If Chelsea need to reduce their FFP situation, How about a late 60m bid for Gallagher and Chalobah.
Improves our HG quota and would fit into the squad, just leaving Lloris Dier and NDombele without a place.

I am largely satisfied with the signings we made this window. But I would be disappointed if we dont sell a CB & bring another good one in, especially after Ange been saying that for 2 or 3 press conference of bringing in a CB

Tosin said no dragging his heels what’s first team football Gaurenteed
Damn. He was the one I was hoping would come out of the blue. Shame he’s not up for the fight, I think there would be plenty of opportunity for him to get good minutes. VDV and Cuti can’t play every game.

Why does everyone keep saying we didn't sign a CB?? Did the advent of the internet reduce everyone memory down to a 5 minute time span? We signed VDV and Phillips. No we didn't sign two seniors but I doubt VDV would have signed if he wasn't going to be first choice.
Window as a whole was actually very good (with exception to the Kane situation). We have fewer gaps in our squad and fewer questions to answer with the performances of Udogie, Royal and Porro at Fullback and we've had 13 players leave during this window.
Its a better window than some of our previous windows

Edit: I'd love to hear from those that disagree what their expectation was at the start of the window and how far we accomplished that.
Happy to oblige. No one thinks Phillips is ready for first team football, so we are clearly short at CB as Sanchez isn’t good enough to be first cab off the rank and Dier doesn’t fit the system at all. So we are one injury from disaster.

what else did I expect? Well silly me but I thought we might actually reinvest the money for failing to keep hold of our best player. One 22 year old who scored 8 goals last year is not a Kane replacement. Also selling more than one of our deadwood on a permanent deal would have been nice wouldn’t it?

We’ve bought some good players this window. I’d give the first few weeks a B+ at least, but since the Kane sale it’s an F and there is not way of dressing it up differently. We have got substantially worse, this is absolutely inarguable, and we’ve left scrambling around not getting deals done on deadline day for the 500th time in a row.

does that explain it?

To be fair, they can this season if they don't get injured/suspended

How do you feel about the centre backs ?
We'll see tomorrow whether we've flogged our best* back up (IMO) in Sanchez and failed to bring in adequate cover, any cover!

*best, as in, better than the alternatives in Dier and Tanganga (who I do know has now gone).

Our TEAM is better than it was last year.

They can't play once a week? Romero's injury history aside he should be able to. Next year will hopefully be different but half this squad have played 2 games a week on average for years.

We needed two first squad cb's and Phillips is not that.
Neither Dier, nor Davies are quick enough for our new style and Big Dav just isn't good enough.
So we've pretty much left ourselves with two decent cb's and then a massive drop off in quality.

On the whole, yes, the window has been pretty good as we've got some real talents in but there's a gaping hole in the back line depth.
