That “midfield in need” was Bissouma and Sarr. We had them but Levy’s awful managerial appointments nullified them. Our star goal scorer on the way out has now gone and not been replaced. We’re still in need of CBs. We lost our DOF and somehow hired a director of football operations and lost him before he started. Our major investor is looking at doing time for insider trading (and there’s no way Levy stays clean in that). Ange is the only bright spot in all of that and in his own words he needed another CB and Levy’s left him short (and fuming by all accounts).

And people can say what they like about Hugo, Dier etc but players with drive and hunger to win and compete at the highest level aren't going to just sit in the reserves for a year regardless of their contract circumstance.

That is the mentality we have built over the last 5 or 6 years.

Don't get me wrong they are more than entitled to do that, and I'm not slagging them off for sitting on their contracts. What I'm saying is I'll be glad to see the back of players with that mentality.

Hopefully we reach agreement with both and they are gone this week. I don't want players happy to coast around a young hungry squad.

problem is, we’ve still got a load of players to shift again next summer when Rodon, Tanganga, Spence and CL return from loan as we’ve only managed to offload Winks on a perm (and Kane obvs but we wanted him to stay!).

Only hope left for us now is for some Saudi bids for Tanguy

other than that it’s keep everything crossed for no injuries to key players!

The only news that worries me is Rob saying Ange is furious. If that Is true, I’m very disappointed. He’s been a ray of light. Someone who has been patient and collaborative with transfer process. But it sounds like he has sadly been made to suffer a typical Danny grift. Promises everything, delivers anything but.

The biggest and best news will be when he is no longer involved with any football decisions.

was drawn in a bit today and compared to normal windows is was not terrible. But with losing Kane it had to be better. Happy with Johnson but no new CB is criminal, no way the new system will work with Davies, Dier or Sanchez in it.

So I’m guessing Gleison Bremer wasn’t around the training centre today then.

No chance of finishing top 4/5 or winning the cup unless we are spectacularly lucky with injuries.

Even if we are I doubt we have the firepower.

Aside from Maddison our signings are unproven and young. They have started well but may understandably struggle at times this season.

We lack depth in multiple crucial positions, particularly CB, CF and CDM.

We have a huge revenue stream but are literally and metaphorically shortchanging the fans.

The running of the club is a mess throughout all levels. I cannot understand how anyone can defend the owners unless they are on the payroll of the club, make money off of taking an oppositional position or just enjoy annoying people on the internet.
