It means we didnt replace kanereally dont even know what this means
but we felt it necessary to announce meaningless partnerships that no one gives a fluff about
It means we didnt replace kanereally dont even know what this means
My understanding is that with Dier, Hojbjerg, Sanchez, Lloris and Ndombele all still on the wage bill we were restricted and that is why it mattered so much to shift them and why we weren't free to spend what you refer to as the Kane/tv money.how so? Where did the Kane / tv money go this summer? Because it wasn't all spent on incomings we know that
Every action taken is viewed through the lens of " does this increase the sale value to the club"You need to look at cash flow statement not profit. You can see that surplus money goes on acquisition of plant, property amd equipment. ENIC strategy is to build up balance sheet value to enable them to take money out through sale.
Maybe "invested back into the club" doesn't mean "invested back into the squad". I am NOT defending him - it has a disingenuous slant to it but the club doesn't necessarily specifically mean the players.“Every penny is invested back into the club” - Daniel Levy
Harry Kane sold for £100m with £200k a week stripped from the wage bill. Brennan Johnson was bought for £37.5m who will be on a fraction of that £200k a week..
Summer 2022, the club had an additional £50m investment that wasn’t invested..
That should leave £112.5m in the club accounts..
Even if people argue where the match day revenue and TV coverage rights go, you can’t argue any of the above.
We are 2 injuries away from a crisis at centre back. With £112.5m to spend, we could have overpaid for 1 young centre back so not to leave Ange in the lurch.
Every penny has NOT been invested in the club, Daniel. This is quite simply a barefaced lie. Don’t lie to the people that invest in the club.
There is not an accountancy firm on earth that would sign off on dodgy accounts, not a reputable one anyway.Well if they’re public accounts then they must be true. No company ever tries to be ‘creative’ with their accounts do they!? All very trustworthy I’m sure..
I mean, forget the fact that we generate such vast amounts of money every home game, forget that we are the 9th richest.. yes richest club in the world, whilst selling one of our greatest ever players for a huge sum. Being a club with enormous FFP headroom. All these things say money, money, money.
You can’t have it both ways, by pleading poverty but making such vast amounts of money at the same time. Why do people find it hard to add everything together and question what’s actually happening!?
Working with the simple fact that you can't fill a Kane sized hole with one player what first team holes didn't we fill?In terms of filling all of the holes the window was a failure.
If you look at it from a straight hit/miss perspective of the players we bought, this has been one of our best windows in sometime. VDV looks like the makings of a young Vertonghen. Vicario will be our #1 for years to come. Maddison is by all accounts the signing of the season thus far in the PL.
Zero chance under Levy sadly.Eze needs to be prime target in January along with a CB
I think we fell short with the extra CB, we had the money so no real excuse. And there was plenty of good options.I rate the window as a 0/10.
Why? I hear you ask.
The club did not meet the requirements to earn a score above zero. The requisite number of competent players in needed positions were not acquired.
if we had signed an additional defender who could play in Ange’s style then it would have been a 4.
If we had actually cleared out the players who are surplus to requirements it would have been a 6.
If we had signed an excellent young striker, with pedigree to replace Kane it would have been an 8.
if we had managed to have Kane sign his final professional contract with Spurs, 9.
Are the match day revenue profits going through the club, or ENIC?There is not an accountancy firm on earth that would sign off on dodgy accounts, not a reputable one anyway.
We are not a rich club, we are a valuable club. All our 'wealth' is tied up IN the club. We post good revenue, but do not turn a profit. Like the old adage: turnover is vanity, profit is sanity.
It's like the pensioner who lives in a £2m house but can't pay the electric bill.
Everyone keeps talking like we have all this money to spend, where is it?
The clubs accounts show every penny bought in is spent on the club, and more.
For starters, how much of the Kane money do we have right now? Did Bayern pay in full or are they paying in instalments? And if we spend the money in January, next Summer or some other time, how is Levy a liar? The idea that money coming in must be spent immediately is idiotic in the extreme.how so? Where did the Kane / tv money go this summer? Because it wasn't all spent on incomings we know that
Just nitpicking but would class Perisic as a forward or attacking midfielder, it was only Conte who converted him to a wing back everyone else plays him up front and wide. So, with the window closed, this is where our squad seems to be (new signings in bold):
Goalkeepers: Vicario, Forster (HG), Austin (HG) = 3, 2 HG
Defenders: Perisic, Davies (HG), Sanchez, Romero, Porro, Royal, Sessegnon (HG, injured), van de Ven = 8, 2 HG
Midfielders: Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Bissouma, Maddison (HG), Bentancur (injured), Skipp (HG) = 6, 2 HG
Forwards: Son, Richarlison, Solomon, Kulusevski, Gil (injured), Johnson (HG) = 6, 1 HG
I make that 23 senior players with 7 of them home grown.
Lloris, Whiteman (HG, injured), Dier and Ndombele would be the contenders for the remaining spots - but only 1 of Lloris, Dier and Ndombele could be included as we have 16 of the 17 foreign player spots filled. Best guess, Dier will be integrated into the squad as 4th/5th choice centre back.
Udogie, Phillips, Sarr and Veliz are under 21 players and don't need to be registered this season.
Trasfermarkt says that Lloris, Forster, Perisic, Dier, Sanchez and Austin have 1 year left on their contract. Ndombele, among others, has 2 years left.
