Can you remove the Emirates part from the thread title. FA cup should always just be FA cup :banghead:

Don’t mind the Carling / Worthington / Carabao / Milk whatever you want to call it ‘Lge Cup’ getting sold off for a few extra quid but FA cup should always just be referred to as the FA cup.

Yeah, you ain't wrong. I slipped up putting that in. Normally I would have noticed myself.

1964 was my first FA Cup television experience as an 8 yr old kid. - Unfortunately West Ham won that one.

AFC Sudbury v Colchester on BBC2 tonight.

Local derby on a 4G pitch. AFC Sudbury are in tier 8. Currently 0-0.

Colchester have a couple of interesting looking players; Dobra is an Albanian U-19 international, and Sylvester Jasper on loan from Fulham. Jasper is 17 (Edit: Apparently he's 20. Still looks good though) and looks a really good prospect. Quick feet and very busy. Sudbury's centre forward Temple has missed a fair bit of this season on trial with Rangers and Sunderland.

The language from the crowd is clear and definitely post-watershed.

0-2 when I just turned over. Must have been 2 quick goals!

Yeh second one a good strike from Sears.

Just noticed Freddie Sears looks like a well fed Christian Eriksen.

Remember when Freddie Sears was West Ham's best young player since Trevor Brooking?

Apparently this year marks the 150th FA Cup final but I can remember the Tottenham v Man City Final in 1981 being the 100th FA Cup Final, so unless I’m going nuts, that was 40 years ago?

Can someone explain!!

I think it is that this year is the 150th anniversary of the FA cup, not the 150th FA Cup. It wasn't played during the two World Wars which I'm sure accounts for the 10 years difference. So this year would be the 150th anniversary, but the 140th FA Cup.

Great strike by Jasper for Colchester's third goal btw. Look out for his name, he's probably a bit too far along for the top of the Prem to take an interest, but I reckon he'd do well at a Southampton or Palace. On loan from Fulham so every chance we could see him in the top division next year.

It was 50 years ago when Colchester did their giant killing FA cup win vs the then mighty Leeds.
..
And just two years since they defeated the lowly Tottenham in the Carabao Cup after a penalty shoot out

There's some big old names in that list of fixtures - plus a lot of amateur teams from the times when I used to watch 1980's amateur football on the Saturday occasions when Spurs were away or midweek games when my mates were playing.

My home town team Banbury Utd (Southern League Premier) taking on League 2 Barrow on ITV4 at 5.15 tonight.
Banbury trying to make it to the 2nd round for the first time are 19 games unbeaten.
Family connection, my brother played over 500 games & was manager for 4 seasons & my dad built the stand.
Come on the Puritans.

Disappointing performance from Banbury so far.
Need Rasulo & Morgan Roberts to get on the ball in the 2nd half & they might have a chance.

Good luck tonight. Unfortunately I won’t be watching as I’m washing my hair
