As far as I can see we still have on our books Rocha, Stalteri, Prince Boateng and Taraabt.

Does anyone think this is deliberate? Surely if there was no intention to use them at all then they would have been shipped out. And other than Taraabt they must each be on wages of 10k a week.

So will they be squad members now and given numbers?

Well i can only see them playing if we have a major injury crisis, other than that i would expect them to be in the ressies till January. If they were to get into the first team squad then obviously they would get a number, im pretty sure Taarabt would still be 19 and Rocha would be 33.

I would think so. Its a chance for them to impress & stake a claim for a place. Big season for Huddlestone, Jenas & Zokora i feel too - they have all shown quality at times but maybe time for them to take a step up & convince the manager they are good enough to take us to the next level

I'll attract some major flak here, but Stalteri is an international player (ok Cananda I know!) and I seem to remember that when he played a whole season, we finished 5th in the league (some would argue we would have been 4th without a couple of his errors!)

I'm just surprised that he is totally ignored and is Zokora really that much better as an option at right back as happened in our first game?

Academic maybe now Corluka is signed but just seems a total waste of wages. If we had cut £1.5m a year off our bill then maybe we could have afforded Arshavin!
