With less than 2 weeks until the season opener in Australia, I thought I may as well bump this thread.
After what was a fantastic season last year I have some renewed faith and optimism that F1 is getting back some of the excitement it had lost over the last lot of years, and am now really looking forward to 17th March. And pre season testing (although not an indicator of who will or won't perform well) would suggest a fairly close field between all the top teams and drivers, with Mercedes coming out fastest but Ferrari, Red Bull, McClaren all looking very strong.
Roll on 17th March!!!
The BBC have done a slideshow of some great F1 pictures from the 60s and 70s,

Well I thought I'd pop in here (after just about getting over the Fulham result) and check out what people thought of the new F1 season, and I find nothing! So, did anyone watch the race? Which teams do people think can realistically challenge for the title? Personally, I was glad to see that the Red Bull isn't miles ahead of everyone else, and we might have 4/5 teams able to win races again this year. Mercedes got the strategy all wrong (and I'm still not convinced that they have the pace - although I hope I'm wrong) and Raikkonen might be able to show Schumacher how a comeback should be done.
Well this is where I disagree completely with you, Vettel is acting like a petulant child, they werent racing full stop. In the past Webber has let Vettel go past when he has wanted to win the title and Webber hasnt been in the title race. Both drivers were told to put their engine map down to pre setting that wouldnt push the car. Now if the person in front follows this order whilst the second driver doesnt, its not racing, it's robbery. Now if they were willing to let them race then and Vettel won fair and square then fair enough but thats not what happened.Just finished watching todays and i have to say i am utterly pissed off, Webber and Vetel are at the front, Vettel is told not to take Webber...Vetel thinks Fek that and does him. End of the race Vetel is in the weigh in room and the director guy comes in starts giving Vetel grief, Webber then comes in and gives Vetel the cold shoulder.
What has happened to *racing*? if i was Vetel i wouldnt want to finish second!! I understand the politics of it, but i cant see a Mansel or a Prost or a Schumacher taking that shit on the chin =/
Webber was a prick on the podium, a RACER won a RACE...
Rant off.
