Really because the camera did not show any red it showed yellow screens

Martin Brundle posted on twitter that the warning lights were red and yellow. Pat Fry, one of Ferrari's technical directors, has confirmed that the lights were red and yellow.

But of course that hasn't stopped the Ferrari fans on twitter from whinging about a conspiracy by the FIA to deprive Alonso of the title.

Was just watching the highlights and it got me wondering; could alonso of overtaken button at the end? The safety car was in that lap and button became the pace setter, but you can overtake after the first safety car line, right? you don't need to wait until the start finish line? Was brilliant race though and i wanted Alonso to win, even thought i don't particularly like him or ferrari and Vettel can be abit more bubbly, but I'm bored of RedBull winning now, haha.

With less than 2 weeks until the season opener in Australia, I thought I may as well bump this thread.

After what was a fantastic season last year I have some renewed faith and optimism that F1 is getting back some of the excitement it had lost over the last lot of years, and am now really looking forward to 17th March. And pre season testing (although not an indicator of who will or won't perform well) would suggest a fairly close field between all the top teams and drivers, with Mercedes coming out fastest but Ferrari, Red Bull, McClaren all looking very strong.

Roll on 17th March!!!

Hadn't realised it was so soon. I wouldn't say last season was fantastic, but it was the one I've enjoyed most since '93 so it did almost seem that way and winter testing has this one looking potentially better, so I'm pretty excited for the coming season. Getting rid of refuelling has helped the sport so much.

Sky have done an really good job with their coverage, better than I thought it would be. Looking forward to more of the same this year.

That's the beauty of the season not ending till late November, it's never that long till the new season starts up again.

Can't wait. With no big changes in the regs, and Pirelli ramping up the tyre degradation, then i think it will be an exciting season.

Hopefully Hamilton will be competitve and Red Bull wont run away with it.

Well I thought I'd pop in here (after just about getting over the Fulham result) and check out what people thought of the new F1 season, and I find nothing! So, did anyone watch the race? Which teams do people think can realistically challenge for the title? Personally, I was glad to see that the Red Bull isn't miles ahead of everyone else, and we might have 4/5 teams able to win races again this year. Mercedes got the strategy all wrong (and I'm still not convinced that they have the pace - although I hope I'm wrong) and Raikkonen might be able to show Schumacher how a comeback should be done.

Yeah, I was dreading a season dminated by Red Bull so the race was good for me. I enjoyed seeing an old master show these younguns how its done and its great to see Lotus back at the forefront of motor racing.

Hard to say how the seaon will pan out. I still think Red Bull have the potential to run away with it, but would expect Ferrari to give them a run for their money. I'm not sure any other teams have the pace at this stage, barring the possibility of Lotus (and even then I'm not convinced, although Kimi is a force to be reckoned with). Mercedes are still off the pace and McClaren have virtually disappeared down the field.

Just finished watching todays and i have to say i am utterly pissed off, Webber and Vetel are at the front, Vettel is told not to take Webber...Vetel thinks Fek that and does him. End of the race Vetel is in the weigh in room and the director guy comes in starts giving Vetel grief, Webber then comes in and gives Vetel the cold shoulder.
What has happened to *racing*? if i was Vetel i wouldnt want to finish second!! I understand the politics of it, but i cant see a Mansel or a Prost or a Schumacher taking that shit on the chin =/
Webber was a prick on the podium, a RACER won a RACE...
Rant off.

In the 2011 British Grand Prix Webber defied team orders and overtook Vettel, so can he really be annoyed?

Well this is where I disagree completely with you, Vettel is acting like a petulant child, they werent racing full stop. In the past Webber has let Vettel go past when he has wanted to win the title and Webber hasnt been in the title race. Both drivers were told to put their engine map down to pre setting that wouldnt push the car. Now if the person in front follows this order whilst the second driver doesnt, its not racing, it's robbery. Now if they were willing to let them race then and Vettel won fair and square then fair enough but thats not what happened.

VETTEL was telling them to tell mark to let him past as he was faster yet lap times showed webber was faster as soon as he saw Vettel enter the DRS zone. Yet Vettel still adament and as for director guy who is Newey giving him a bollocking he said fuck all tbh, if you heard him didnt say shit to Vettel despite him being slower in the incident they were talking about. Its not politics its fucking cheating a teammate by not warning him that you havent conformed to orders that he has benefited from numerous times. Vettel showed himself for a arsehole politically when he demanded things to be taken off Webber's cars despite not wanting them earlier.

Rant fucking over.
