Maybe I am reading too much into it, but it seems odd, not to say perverse, that Mitchell will not be reporting to the man who is head of recruitment. To whom will he be reporting, then? Levy? Pochettino? It just seems to be adding another tier for no obvious good reason?

One thing Baldini has got going for him, is that he can get a signature on the dotted line. Whether the price is right, who knows. Whether its the player the manager wants or the team needs, who knows.

The biggest problem I have with Baldini/a DoF is the lack of clarity. With a lack of clarity comes little responsibility, as we have seen whenever Comoli opens his mouth to say how he is responsible for Bale and Modric, without mentioning Bentley, Pav, Bent....
