We should sign Butland as a goalie on top of whoever we get

Look at joe hart, spent ages as given understudy and now one of the 3 or 4 best players in his position in the world and will likely end his career England's most capped player

We need an immediate experienced keeper and a young prospect

I am not a fan of using much money on a keeper. You can get good keepers on a free transfer.

Has anyone actually seen Butland play or is it just because he got a call up (like Scott Carson before him ). I think Bogdan's a fair shout, along with Al Habsi and Vorm.

I really don't want us to sign Butland. That is almost like a boring Liverpool signing. I don't want to spend much money on a keeper unless it is Steve Mandanda.

Strømsgodset is indeed the leading team in Norway at the moment, but that doesn't mean that they are any better than a League 1 club. Kwarasey is a decent player, but hardly Premier League material.

If you ask me - he is as much Premier League material as this Butland guy..... My point is that we in general do not need to use that much money on the keeper position. Let's use the money to strengthen in other areas instead.

hart was discovered at Shrewsbury, because Butland experience consists of cheltenham and Birmingham doesn't mean he isn't any good

Lloris ticks the most boxes of available keepers, Krul would be my 2nd choice but he would be even more expensive thn lloris as Newcastle don't need to sell
