Sorry Kaye, all our play does go through him. He's the only one with any invention at the moment. The reason we aren't playing well has nothing to do with Berbatov, i'm not sure there are any games where Berbatov came off instead of Keane, of late Keane has been very poor. I think most Spurs fans are trying to play down Berbatov's importance, so they will not feel so upset if he leaves. I on the other hand know how important he is, and I don't believe he will leave. Ramos and Poyet want to build the team around him, and it wouldn't surprise me for them to convince him to stay.
Worked out the fault in your logic yet?
You can't have it both ways. If all our play goes through him, then if we aren't playing well, then it's his responsibility.
From where I've been watching, all our play does not go through Berbatov. There are some moves in which he plays a major role, and he is undoubtedly a class act, but there are many good Tottenham moves where his involvement is limited to throwing his hands in the air because he hasn't been given a pass, usually because he hasn't been available until the move has broken down. Hard work is hardly his forte, whereas a lot of the good moves he is involved in, also involve the intelligent and ceaseless hard work from Keane, who, let it be said, also has his faults, neither of them being ruthless finishers (Please don't anyone mention the dear departed. He wasn't/isn't a ruthless enough finisher either).
Berbatov is undoubtedly important to Tottenham, but is not irreplaceable. If he wants to be part of Tottenham's progression, he will sign an extended contract. If not he will be moved on, and the money received will go towards strengthening the team.
