I'll back conte in whatever he thinks but I camt be the only one thinking that lucas is made for the right wing back role?

He has pace, energy , great dribbling and can cross. Everything traore can but with a better end product and less muscles.

Hype for Lamptey is really weird considering how much hate are getting Sessegnon or Lo Celso for being injured.
They don’t get hate for being injured, their performances when they’re not injured are criticised (mostly rightly so).

We’re used to players with injuries - we had sicknote (Anderton) for years.

The thing with Adama is is you're not just buying a RWB, he can play a few other positions when required.

I think he'd be an insane RWB!

Imagine the fun going forward we'd be.
Might be some teething problems but I think we'd end up creating lots.

If signing Traore would be to replace Doherty (who’s linked to Roma-hopefully the only deal that has mendes fingerprints over it) then that’s an immediate upgrade.
For his pace alone, he would be really useful in wide spaces. The amount of space Emerson has had to run into since conte arrived - we need more pace in the side,
For £20mil that’s a great deal

Agreed. And while his end product isn't amazing, he does actually put some good crosses in, it's just that Wolves only have 1 player who is capable of finishing so it reflects poorly on Traore.

The way we play under Conte Traore (at RWB) won't be getting the ball and going on a mazy run beating 3 or 4 players. He will be running onto a pass as the extra man in the final third and be expected to get his head up and pick out a killer cross or pull back with his first touch.

I just hope there's a willingness from the Traore camp to get the deal done asap. If this is going to be one of those "we tried bit was difficult" scenarios. I'm going to be pissed

The guy can cross.

You say all this like its absolute fact and written in the stars lol.

If Conts wants him, I'd be trusting his judgement and ability to improve/work with players than any expert on here!

That there may be a RWB people would rather see brought in than Traore is beside the point.

If that’s who Conte wants, I think we can all agree it’s better than ever having to play Doherty again.

I just hope this is just a smokescreen by Conte and our transfer team.
Lol, smokescreen for what reason? Wtf would anyone at the club benefit from saying we were interested in Adama Traore if they really weren't?

Some of you lot do make me chuckle with how you think there's all this smoke a mirrors stuff going on behind the scenes. It really doesn't happen ever.

Adama Traore, like most players, has key flaws in his game. Nevertheless, he has a number of attributes that you feel would be a dream for Conte. His ability to progress the ball when under pressure and pull opposition players out of position is incredible. There are few teams, if any, that don't have to alter their style when playing against him - most have to ensure there are two or even three players on him. Traore at RWB under Conte would be an absolute beast and bring new dynamism to the side.

If we can get Traore for £20m and get even £5m for Doherty then we've just massively upgraded that part of our squad for a net outlay of £15m. No. fucking. brainer.

You seem to think I’m anti-Traore or quoting facts. I was just merely pointing out how WBs play in Conte’s system. I did not say he couldn’t cross. I just said he’d be expected to arrive onto a pass and pick a cross. For what it’s worth I think, if Conte wants him, he’d give us better offensive options at RWB than Royal or Doherty, and competing with Royal would give us good options.

Gotta remember that Conte was using Perisic as a WB last year. He wants players with attacking instincts up that end of the field.

No disrespect to Ally Gold - as I like the fella but I don't believe he knows what is going on between Conte and Paraciti.
Lamptey was injured for huge chunks of last season so 4 assists in 11 appearances is actually very very good. He also has to rely on clowns like Neal Maupay to put his chances away which halves his assist potential instantly.

When you watch Lamptey, while he doesn't have the absurd physicality of Traore, he's a lot more intelligent on the ball and much more of a natural wing back. Traore can beat anyone in the dribble but will shank the ball out of play or run down blind alleys endlessly. Maybe Conte can coach him to fit into his system but I'll believe it when I see it.

If I had to pick one I'd choose Lamptey every time, although given his injury record, huge fee (BHA would want 50m I imagine) and tiny stature, I do wonder if we'd be better off going after someone else entirely.

lamptey is class but he seems injured a lot

AT is physically a beast the counter attacks would be devastating
