Maybe that’s because the club itself is in a constant cycle of nearly achieving but then not really bothering. Some people can live and with that and accept it for what it is and others find it very frustrating. I’d prefer to be in the more level headed later but alas.

Do I want the club to be better? Absolutely. Do I want us to progress and win things? You bet I do. I bloody love Tottenham. They have been my escape during the pandemic and the football (good or bad) has distracted me from very dark things.

But at the same time I won't get so angry or uptight about a transfer that doesn't happen that apparently we were close to doing. There's definitely a major overreaction from some on here (and other sites), filled with agenda and bias to boot. It's boring reading the same tropes day in and day out.

Whoever we sign, whenever we sign them, however much we pay, I will back them and the manager.

Im not one to get too worked up on transfers although i am excited. Loans work for now and in the summer we then do our main transfer business. Ideally Conte would have all his players in now and use the next six months as pre season - that is idealistic and isnt going to happen. The summer gives us time to get rid of players between now and then now that Conte has made his assessments. That helps build a fund plsu whatever else we have going forward and we can start our rebuild properly

The chances are we are skint for now but i have no idea... just enjoy the ride... chill.. Levy, Paritici and Conte know what is needed and as a trio I am sure they have worked out a plan.

Same as before i.e. new RWB, CM and forward. Trix saying it might be possible and that something financial might be afoot to enable it, but not a take-over. In the meantime loans with options to buy seem the order of the day for the time being.

The transfer window really bring out the worst in our fans and this forum sometimes. We've had just under two weeks of constant negativity, doom and gloom and catastrophising at even the slightest bit of (often unsubstantiated) negative news.

Those same people are the same that will turn around and criticise our players at the drop of a hat for having a weak mentality and giving up too easily and completely fail to see the irony.

Yes, signings as soon as possible would be ideal, but we've been told Conte himself is essentially planning for next season... can't we just exercise a bit of patience?

If it gets to January 31st and it is indeed the same old story, i'll be as vocal in criticising the club as anybody else but I truly don't see the point in fretting until that's the case.

When this is the mindset some people have, is it any wonder that they project it onto others?

I don’t do any big transactional deals in my daily/work life but I do have firsthand experience negotiating sex sesh’s with my wife and those can take days and even weeks. I’m all like “oh c’mon let’s just do it now” and she’s like “Ew, no.” So, I think I get it.

I think @Trix has the capability of pressing a link and stopping it from loading before its fully loaded. Are you trying to suggest he's past it now and his reaction times are basically zero?

There's more to what's happening/not happening behind the scenes than meets the eye at the moment, but I'm not at liberty to post as yet. All I can say is the club still expect to get business done this window. IF it breaks I'll confirm what I've been told, but all I'll say is it's not anything to be concerned about, and neither is it a takeover(before people start reaching for the lube). Oh and Conte knows the situation and it's not a problem.

Sounds good mate. I think really people just need to relax this window. I know with Levy its a case of once bitten twice shy but as Trix and others have said over and over FP is in charge of the deals now and he and Conte know what we need.

January is never easy and deals do drag out in Jan.

Not ITKwise but I just have a feeling that we will be fine this window and we will get 2-3 in, I just don't think that with Conte and FP we will fuck around and end up with nothing like we have done in the past, it seems from ITK and from media snippets etc that there actually IS a plan in place this time with people who know what they're doing.

The updates are great but don't everyone get their knickers in a twist at every single change in situation, I really think we will be fine come end of Jan and of course next summer will be when we really go for it with the rebuild for Conte.
