I love this major. And for the first time they are showing it on TV early. Its a bit sad in a way because it used to be only sold to public broadcasters but this year they have capitulated.

Capitalist bastards.

Still, Its working for Rory Mcillroy, 7 under after his first round.

Great start for McIlroy. I hope he doesn't get a repeat of his second round at The Open when he had another great first round.

Really? Great news because I prefer BBC's coverage.

I think its shown on both. Whats interesting is the stout folk of Augusta have not let them show the sky sports logo over their pictures.

Did you know that the entire course is cut by hand. And I dont mean a lawnmower.

I fucking love this major and would give anything to play on this course, just stunning, that is all I can say about it.

Go Rory, what a fantastic 1st round.

I know a journalist who won the lottery they draw on the Monday after the comp to play the course. Said it was the most amazing experience of his life.

Jammy git.

Looking forwards to the pins being put in tighter positions on after the cut, hopefully the British contingent will be in the mix going into the final round on Sunday. Will be getting a nice bottle of wine in and packing the wife off to bed nice and early!

If one of our boys doesn't win then i hope that a Ishikowya win at 250-1 will soften the blow :)

I'd love to see Westwood win it as well. Really deserves to win one after a few near misses. Good to see Garcia back playing some good stuff and would love to see him win it too.

Backed Poulter at 50-1, so if its not Rory or GMac, then come on Poults!!

This is the best major though, I'd give anything to play at Augusta.

Quiros finished on 7 under alongside Rory, seems to have the game to challenge if he can keep the mistakes out of his game that so often plague him.

Has anyone watched in 3D yet?? Thinking about finding a pub on Sunday to watch some in it if its any good?

Mate 3d is a gimmick.

Technically not a major, even though it's sometimes called the 5th one, but I prefer Sawgrass to any of them. Would love a few shots on the 17th!

Bit sloppy from McIlroy there. Would be great to see him win this.

So close from Rory with the eagle putt there, what a chance to make up for the bogey. Still gets the shot back though, and with the 15th to come he's got a fantastic chance to really extend his lead.

Cracking back 9 from Tiger, glad I took 10/1 on him on Wednesday night. Back 9 of 5 under.

Still shouting for Rory, but if he doesn't do it, a bit of money could soften the blow.

Tiger looked formidable last night and Rory will need to get his putter hot again to stay at the top!

All the playets who played early have posted good scores. The final few groups, with the exception of Choi seem to be struggling a little.

Great playing from Rory, so patient and great playing from 13 in. A 4 shot lead, and ghe whole of Ireland cheering him on tomorrow.
