I'm sure Poch himself would admit to mistakes during the season and the fact that there are areas of his management/coaching skills that he needs to improve on

However, to say that he doesn't have the ability to win silverware is somewhat premature

This season we didn't have the same attacking outlet from our fullbacks, which Walker and Rose gave us. We also had an injury to Harry Kane at a crucial time in the season. Further to this, we had injuries to our central midfield options with Winks, Wanyama and Dembele in and out of form because of it

And of course we had to go the whole season playing at "home" in a stadium that motivated our opposition more than us

So anyway, we should probably wait until we're bedded into our new ground and with a better squad, before casting judgement on whether or not Poch has the talent to win anything

Finally, and for the record, if our transfer/wages budget doesn't increase significantly we're going to have to do a LOT better in the transfer market, if we're going to compete. That's another thing that Poch, Levy and the scouting team will need to think about

For at least the last 7-8 years we've always been saying "top 4 and a cup" is a great season.. Surprisingly, we still haven't achieved that yet. Hopefully next season we do.

I do like Poch as he does genuinely like the club, what we stand for and what we're trying to achieve but I can't help but feel he's just not the man to win us the trophies we have been desperate for. If he stays it won't irritate me in the slightest as I am more confident that what he's done is show to the club, the fans, the players and outsiders that there is quality in the team. That imo is more important than him staying or going as it provides a basis for us to be judged on and provides us with self belief and mental strength. If he stays the expectation is we need to improve. If he were to go then Levy and another incoming manager needs to appreciate they're not taking on a team that needs a revolution and evolution to compete. We're close. We just need refinement and fine tuning. Whether that's an elite manager able to see what could be achieved with a bit of improvement to the squad or better tactics to win important season defining games such as the Juventus or Utd game, who knows. My personal opinion is such an elite manager would get us a trophy next season with the skill set or managerial experience Poch lacks.

But if he stays then I hope his biggest self improvement point will be to see those particular games and analyze himself and accept he needs improvement on his decision making if we are to win trophies. Too many times this season he's been lacking. And if he can recharge his batteries and reflect on certain games where the result was lost on his tactics or lack of, then him coming back with refreshed ideas could be like a new manager.

But if we have a poor start again next season and trophies aren't important again then I wouldn't care one bit if he's replaced with a better manager.
Next season no matter who is in charge we need to start strong and try to keep a winning steak for as long add possible to stand any chance of the title. That's what City did and that's what we need to emulate and be prepared for if we are to win.

I think everyone agrees Poch isn't the best manager. He's brought us to another level, yes , but it should not be something we should be satisfied with. We haven't won diddly squat yet. And nothing will change and the majority of fans can't be expected to love him regardless if we don't improve and win something soon.

There's only so much you can like a manager who's not won you anything before the love turns sour....

Where would you find a better manager who won't demand a 1 billion pounds transfer kitty?

How the same big names keep occurring Mourino;Ancelotti;guardiola;and so on.
They all have one thing in common they have managed the richest clubs able to pay the highest wages and fork out enormous transfer fees I have seen no record of any of these super managers having made a lesser club a success because it does not happen. How any so called spurs fan could want to change Poch for any of these men is to me amazing. They are just a group of men that have managed at the very top clubs and its like a merry go round one year your at Madrid the next at Milan then at Bayern followed by Barcelona or psg.I would love to see what some of these so called top managers do at say Burnley or Bournmouth or Brighton or Huddersfield I think it is fair to say with little or no cash to spend and limited squads the would be lost.Where as if you put Dyche;Wagner;Houghton;Howe in charge of one of these super squads with limitless money to spend on wages and transfers they would make a good fist of it.
SO I BEG the nay sayers lay of Poch and let him carry on his great work
Ah the old Fat Sam "I'd win the quadruple at Real Madrid I would..." line. There is a reason that these managers get trusted with these types of clubs and budgets. Guardiola is less a proponent of such football than a product of it, and as such I doubt there are better placed managers who can spend those kind of budgets and manage those superstars better.

He looked pretty smug in his press conference today I must say. Ally Gold said he was happy too in his press conference round up.

So something good must have happened a la Hercules's info earlier.

No its the old "these uber managers haven't got the balls to take on a club with little money and lesser squads."
Also its the old "these uber managers have never had to prove themselves at lower levels"they have walked into top jobs because they were top players with no record or c'v as a manager excluding Mourino who was never a top player.
Also we or you will never know what fat sam could achieve at one of these uber clubs because he will never get the chance; if you want to make the argument about his style of football I refer you to probably the only chance he had to do this was near his end at Bolton with the likes of Jay Jay Okacha/campo/el has Diouf/Djorkaef these were just a few quality player topped up with Davies and the like he managed to play attractive attacking football and was a match for most teams at the time .The rest of his career has been mostly firefighting trying to save teams from relegation with not very good players .I do not know if he could hack it at a top club but I am open minded enough to believe he may have been O.K at one of these jobs ;we will never know and will never know about Houghton;Howe;Dyche;Wagner because they will never get the chance but any player for Bayern;Madrid;Barca and the like on retiring and fancying a coaching job they will get the chance at one of the top European clubs because of there name only.No apprentaship needed

Its just what they showed on SNN. Started the piece with the reporter saying "update on whether posh will be at Spurs next season"

Cuts to posh saying "100% at THFC as of today"

Are we guaranteed to see you here next season?
What a question eh? It's not my... you know I still have three years on my contract. No point in talking about that. Only you know in football that everything can happen. No one is sure in their job, but I have a three year contract. Like I told the media in Spain after the game on Wednesday, they asked me about my contract and about what happened at some clubs, I told them: ‘Look I have a three year contract and they need to agree with Daniel.’
So you will 99% be here next season?
No, today it’s 100%.
Next season?
I don't know, but today it is 100% because I have a three-year contract here. But tomorrow I don't know what is going to happen.

It doesn't matter what poch says the media will still twist it to suit their agenda I firmly believe he will stay and so he should and that he receives a longer, bigger contract and the resources to improve the squad further still.

He may have looked happy but his comments are a bit weird...’100% here today but who know tomorrow...’

Or maybe poch twists the media for his agenda.

I agree but he was looking a bit mischievous when he said it if you ask me.

You can guarantee one thing though, the media will be twisting his words to fuck tomorrow morning.

MAY BE he's already been tapped up by PSG or RM, MAY BE he knows that some of the "star" players are leaving, MAY BE Levy's told him no money for the next 12 months to help pay for the stadium, MAY BE he feels he's gone as far as he can at this club with the restrictions. MAY BE just MAY BE?
