I think employee's of a club can't be much more invested in a club than simply about money, if that wasn't true we wouldn't have some of the players we do. I believe most of our players are invested in our club and in part to Poch. Also either Poch is a very good liar or he is heavily invested in our club Andy the project he started out on. Now don't get me wrong Madrid will make any manger raise an eyebrow, but I believe Poch will happily be here next season.
I'm not saying they are not invested. I don't doubt for a second Pochettino's vigour and effort. He is very committed. BUT, it's business, it's not personal. No player, manager or executive makes decisions the way we think or would like them to make decisions, because they are not only emotional about it the way fans are solely emotionally invested. It's a fairy tale to say that the contract is too fresh for him to leave now. But yes, very very invested, of course.

Poch is a rare breed.

He's a knowledgeable, progressive, nurturing, & honorable man / manager who believes & stays true to his vision. He got Levy to buy into his philosophy. Poch has the ambition to build something special here & is willing to put in the time & effort as long as he is backed.

Other so called "top" managers such as Mourinho, Conte, Ancelotti, Scolari, Van Gaal & Hiddink etc are & have been easily discarded. They operate in the here & now. Almost on a superficial level relying on substantial investment to succeed.

Poch may not yet have the years of experience that some of these managers may have but his methodology & his willingness to completely immerse himself in the implementation of a philosophy within & throughout a club is seemingly 2nd to none. That is where most of his value lies.

If he were to walk, we would be seriously crippled.

He would look like a bit of a tit though if he just turned round and said he wanted to leave.

Agree 100%, but I don't think it would be a death knell for the club's current progress. There's a lot going right with the club right now, and although a second Poch may be difficult/impossible to find, I don't think him leaving could demolish all of that momentum.

At any rate, the bolded part is why I think he'll want to stick around for at least one more season. His best attributes (his character and patience) would be lost on Real's squad, and if we all know that, Poch definitely does too.

Perez: "you are our first choice and we will give you a mega transfer budget.........you must come!"

Poch: "But I just signed a new contract........ I will look a bit of a tit"

Perez: "We will double your salary"

Poch: "Well Someone stick a bra on me......I'm a bery, bery big looking rich tit"

Only kidding @Donki , I know what you mean. I also think he is a man of much honour. Not many of his ilk in football.

sometimes business is personal.....not always obviously or even often but sometimes. We are definitely living in an era of money obsessed mercenaries, but there are some who do have an emotional connection with their clubs.

I'm relaxed not because of the supposed legal protections that a contract provides - like you said, if he wants to go and RM are willing to pay, he will go.

I'm relaxed because of what signing that contract signifies. As I mentioned in an earlier post, if this was merely business, then from a business perspective it made no sense to sign that contract days before Zidane might have gone anyway, thereby making his extraction from Spurs that much harder and more expensive.

signing the contract days before the CL final when there was always the possibility that Zidane might go makes no sense. If he was seriously interested he would have waited.

Had he not signed I would be bricking it now, but he did sign it......a week ago....so I'm not
100% this. Would be hilarious if they go for Klopp.

Whatever happens I just hope it happens quickly.

He could be just a smokescreen for Madrid's real intentions at this stage though.

Poch looks long term. He's definitely not short sighted.
He has built himself not only a brand but is considered a person of integrity in a business which is lacking in it.

If he were to walk now, he would tarnish what he has accomplished thus far.
He would then be viewed by future employers as another mercenary who is unreliable.

He's not an idiot no matter how much he may want the RM job.
He's young & he knows there is plenty of time for that in the future.

I can't really see Wenger as a club manager again. Shine went off him about ten years ago. His dismal record in Europe alone would disqualify him.

Next Madrid manager is a poisoned chalice IMO... Ronaldo clearly unhappy, Bale leaving, Ramos, Benzema, Modric aging and need to begin to be phased out, and the younger generation doesn't seem to cut it. And instant success will still be expected. TBH they don't need a great manager, they need an axe man for a year or so and then someone to rebuild (with a pile of cash of course).
