New member coming over from COYS. Hi everyone.

I feel there is a real possibillity he could leave. One job that would be impossible to turn down is the Real one. The contract means nothing. He has big ambitions, Guliame Ballague has said that many times in interwiews, and he knows Poch well after the book. So I believe he has aspirations to one day become Real manager. This might have been two-three years before he feels he is ready, and that COULD be a saving factor for us. That and the fact that he does not feel he is finished with us.

But then again, there is time for a generation-shift at Real, and that could prove to be too tempting for him.

I hope he stays for 20 years, but fear we could loose him now!

When you say coming over from COYS, do you mean of your own free will or were you marched over in handcuffs and straight jacket by a COYS mod wearing a gimp mask and leather chaps?

Anyhow welcome

My posts per day were under the limit over the last six motnths. So marched over naked while people in the streets threw tomatoes at me and a woman in robes says "shame" in front of me.
New job and all, so less time to talk spurs really. Hope to contribute more over here.

If they want him they would have to pay £40 million to get him. This is the same club that didn’t go for mbappe last summer because they didn’t want to pay over £100 million for a player. Are they really going to spend half of that on a new manager and his coaching team?

Seems a little far fetched to me.

Poch has a press conference in Barcelona today promoting his book with G.Ballbag. No doubt that'll turn into a RM media fest. Hopefully Poch shuts it down today 'committed to new deal, not the right time, etc...'

In addition to to £40million+ that they'd need to hand over to us to release him, I assume they would also need to offer Poch a contract of at least the same value. If things didn't work out for him and they decided to change again next summer, it would have cost them north of £85million.

If Pochettino leaves honestly we should just liquidate. Smash the new stadium down. Sell everyone. It’s too painful to think of how fucked we’d be if he left.

It is funny, but at the same time it'd be a kick in the bollocks and one more nail in a coffin for me as to why not to bother ploughing time, effort all the other words into football.

John Hancocks on a piece of paper, digitally or signed in fucking blood - it means the square route of fuck all if it all does go tits up.

Why?

I'm not buying into this 'shock resignation' stuff. It's maybe a shock to the fans, but I'd wager that Perez has known for a while, and if he knew, he's bound to have put some feelers out.

My thoughts exactly. Both Pérez and ZZ would have known this was coming regardless of the result on Saturday. With that being the case, Pérez won’t have sat on his hands waiting until the official announcement yesterday. I just can’t see Poch signing that new contract for him to suddenly get a call from Perez yesterday.

Majority of media, as well as rival fans want Spurs to go back to mediocrity, so that has caused mass hysteria linking Poch with the job.

i can't see him leaving at all just yet, he has the run of things at spurs. He has his training team and control of the way a lot of things are done. Depends on what is important to him but i feel from the way he speaks its to continue with the project, improving spurs and playing in our awesome new ground. If he goes to Madrid now it could go very bad with all the egos that he would have to put up with and then competing and fighting with the president Perez. If he continues to be a great manager then there will always be a MAdrid job about as they sack a manager about every 2 years.

As someone pointed out, as much as we all love Poch, we are a more desirable club now than we were when we were fumbling about with the likes of Tim Sherwood. We should be able to dine pretty much at the top table where managers are concerned.

Whatever happens we are a very attractive prospect now and would be able to bring in a strong replacement.
While I agree, there are no strong replacements available they are all taken. So we would have to buy another person out of a club whilst also picking out from clubs around or below where we are. Doesn't leave a stand out candidate in my eyes but then I guess Pochettino wasn't at the time either

Yes I agree but we would have to start again. Either way he won't leave us this summer.

I don't understand why people are getting their knickers in such a twist really

Just remember how all the fans of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liv etc etc acted like fucking dogs about this when Poch stays and does something truly special. Will make it all the sweeter.
