Proactive versus reactive you mean.

Well yeah proactive (dont start at a disadvantage) - then again is bringing Winks on (who we assume was 'rested') with 10 minutes to go - productive?

I appreciate players need a rest, thats for definite and our transfer window or lack of hasnt helped us.

Would be hysterical if now that Gomes has shown he can okay well in this league we swooped in and trumped Everton...

Intriguing line from a piece in the Guardian today, possibly...

'Pochettino’s anecdote prompted a question – what was the club’s chief scout doing at the Merseyside derby? “Be careful,” he replied, with a smile. “There is maybe a big surprise in January.”'

www.theguardian.com/football/2018/dec/04/maurico-pochettino-tottenham-hotspur-arsenal

Yeah that quote was in there but I liked how he basically said that Arsenal posting photos of themselves celebrating and Liverpool fans celebrating the arsenal goals shows how we are a big club. He’s blatently using things like that to push on our squad and motivate them. It’s Poch all over.

“Personally, I don’t like,” Pochettino said about dressing-room selfies. “If you win a trophy, like I did when I was a player, it is a moment to celebrate. This is my mentality. I don’t want to say it’s right or wrong. I love to celebrate in private and not make it public. If you win, celebrate and show the fans you are happy – but when you win a trophy, when you win something special.
“Arsenal, Tottenham, we are 30 points each [in the Premier League]. There are still a lot of things to play for. To be sporting enemies is a fantastic thing but I don’t want to criticise what people want to do. What it shows is the respect that they have for us. When the people celebrate like this, it’s because people respect you and see you as a big club. When we arrived here five years ago, it was normally Arsenal always above Tottenham. But in the last two seasons, we were above them. To get the respect is the most important thing or the first step.”
To further illustrate his point, Pochettino told a story from Anfield, where Tottenham’s chief scout, Steve Hitchin, had been at the derby between Liverpool and Everton, which kicked off shortly after the Arsenal-Spurs game finished. “Steve was watching our game before and when Arsenal scored the third goal, all the Liverpool fans celebrated, like Arsenal celebrated afterwards,” Pochettino said. “It’s clear we are doing something good. That respect – I love it. I love it when the people celebrate when they beat you. I don’t like it when the people don’t celebrate because it’s normal to beat Tottenham.”

I think Hitchen was there because we play Everton on 23 December. That’s all it is.

Realistic Buys: Tosun, Niasse, Davies, Kenny, Lovern, Scheinderlin, Gueye.
Davies or John Jo Kenny the only two I want but getting them would cost a lot, young and english.

Possibly Holgate or Lookman, but yeah... the list isn't great.

Davies is very average and why the hell would we buy Kenny when we have KWP?

I would imagine it's Lookman, who we've had an interest in for a long time.

Personally I think at 2-2 Alli or Eriksen could be sacrificed for Winks to add some energy in the centre and I would consider swapping Kane who seems a bit lathagic of late for Moura and just play more direct on the break to nullify their pressing... Son and Moura using pace to push them back on the flanks. Eriksen or Alli running from deep when opportunities occurred

Agree totally. A change in positioning is as effective as a change in personnel. I personally would of kept 4 at the back, the risk of losing dier in the middle is not enough for the reward of him at the back.

I agree lucas and son splitting wide and yes I would also have removed kane who is back to running in treacle. 433 subs to come on winks lucas and lamela for Kane, eriksen and Sissoko who wasn't his beastmode best.

Attacking 433 alli dier winks, son lamela false 9 lucas wise right.

We all have opinions.. That's just mine.

Gomes All day long. He must have been impressed after that display. Perfect signing for us. Not even a gamble as he has settled in very quickly. I never saw him at Valencia but he looks class now.

Watching us play is so boring
Poch needs to switch things up, we can’t play like this all season

we took our foot off the gas when 3-0 up. at the moment we really need to be able to conserve energy wherever possible in my eyes, after a busy season and now coming to the busiest part of the season. I think if Southampton had scored earlier we would of lifted our game again
