Why wouldn't Madrid go all out for Klopp? He plays insane attacking football that their fans love, he's won things in the past. Madrid are a bigger club than Liverpool, I don't get why he's not been linked/wanted by Madrid, am I missing something?

Would YOU want to face the wrath of a very strongly worded petition? No, I thought not Now be quiet

About that bold piece.
On an elementary basis, Poch beat RM while Klopp lost.
I just meant that purely from the standpoint of clickbait Klopp would be the more obvious choice. Liverpool's global support base dwarfs our own, and they are absolutely obsessive on Twitter and other forms of social media.

Klopp having managed in club football's most high-profile match of the season, against Real Madrid, last weekend, has just a touch more resonance with regard to media exposure than a match last October.

Relax guys! Apart from Modric and Bale, when have we ever signed someone up to a long term contract only to let them go to Madrid soon after? ... Doh!

I have to say - there are many on here that are a lot more confident than I am!

How many chances will a manager get to lead Real Madrid - who knows what will happen in the future, his stock might fall massively.

I hate to say it, but I think there's a fair chance he'll leave. I don't think it was clear (at all) that Zidane would be leaving (the players were told this morning apparently) and my guess is that he felt he (Zidance) would stay having won the CL.

I dearly hope not, obviously. Hopefully Daniel is on the phone to him right now saying - "everything I promised you re: players, I'm going to wrap up in the next few days because you're such a great guy and I want you to stay"...

Maybe a bit optimistic?

I think Klopp is a more obvious choice for Real, but I just can't see him going anywhere. I think he believes (possibly correctly) that he's on the verge of something big

Why doesn't that apply to Poch then?

I've said it already but Poch knew that ZZ might leave - we all knew that ZZ might leave so he would not have signed a new contract if he had it at the back of his mind that he wanted the job.
This strikes me as wishful thinking. Why drag your feet on a massive pay rise and potentially alienate your employer over a hypothetical that very well may not come to pass? Having signed the contract Poch is now in a much stronger bargaining position with Madrid than he otherwise would have been, and Spurs would also benefit (for lack of a better word) from a dramatically larger buyout.

The new contract is hardly some ironclad defense against Poch leaving. All it means is that it will be much more costly to lure him away. If he decides he wants to go and Perez is willing to pay what it takes, it will not be an obstacle.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

No offence but I think that you are pessimistic. He won't be going to RM.

He won't leave. I don't like the word 'spursy' but this panicking over him going is very 'spursy'.

Poch just signed a reported 8.5m a year, 5 year contract so in order to buy him out it would cost a minimum of £42.5m, at that figure and with a desire to go I would imagine Levy will deal. Now this being Madrid they will arrogantly expect Poch to kick up hell to join their club. This is the part I think Poch will have more class and self respect to do in order to save Madrid a few pounds
My monies on Wenger and I think they would be mad to do anything else

If he leaves, he leaves. I'm optimistic we'll still improve. Gross is going to shit himself when he find out we've got Oyster cards now.

If the Independent story is true, its going to be a real struggle, pardon the pun....

If Real's number 1 target is Poch, they push for him, its going to be very difficult for us. I hope one way or other , Poch clarifies situation straight away. Last thing we need is uncertainity
