We know he has from his first season. What’s more than likely happened is that he still picks his favourites regardless of their form and it’s having a negative effect on the team
It’s this 100% - he’s not ruthless enough with his substitutions or team selections as I believe he doesn’t like upsetting his favourites. Prime example was the FA cup semi v Chelsea when he took the easy option and benched Davies in order to squeeze Son in. Same as dropping Moura for the CL final - always the easy option of upsetting the more peripheral squad players

Errors are made by every manager in every game I see him choosing his favourites differently to some as I see his favourites are generally the best players and it makes sense to pick the best players .
Or is it that he just picks what he thinks is the best team because if you are going to leave out Kane and Son and Verts and Alderweireld on a regular basis your win rate is going to be less.

Massive game for him today. Needs to prove the Palace game wasnt an anomaly and was in fact the start of a turnaround.

Defeat today and I think the pressure ratchets up another notch.

Levy's quotes for anyone that hasn't seen them. I've bolded the eye popping bit. Eye popping in that he admitted it out loud...

“It will have no bearing on how we run the club … and no bearing on those types of short-term movements [like transfers],” Levy replied. “I understand as I am a fan, clearly you want to win on the pitch. But we have been trying to look at this slightly differently, in that we want to make sure we ensure an infrastructure here to stand the test of time.
We could have easily spent more money on players. Who knows if that would have bought us more success or not. The right approach is to build from the bottom up. There is no quick fix to becoming a much more significant global club.”

Is this not obvious to anyone who kept up with our transfer dealings? We literally spent the last day of the season trying to spend more on Dybala and would have done so if it weren’t for his ridiculous image rights arrangement

So why does he use those tactics, then?
Poch has used a number of tactics during his tenure he is undisputed when it come to tactical set ups. He has taken players beyond and above there capabilities and we haven't recycled enough players to take us a level up from what we are. Liverpool toggled around our level for a period (for before hand we were ahead of them) they went out and bought specific players and now have gone past us.

I really feel Poch is treading water because of the limitation of the the squad ie injuries and some are in the comfort zone , our level is still CL league level, however we need players playing at their top level especially those coming back from injuries and luck for trophies to start falling our way.

I've reread the sky sports report.
I think we may have misunderstood him.
Some are being thrown by the headlines but he's saying that he will see towards the end of the season if this was the best squad. Personally I think he's trying to motivate them to prove him that they are capable of going the extra by winning something

Shock

I know what you mean but sadly, it actually isn't a shock really is it. Fuck reading the article, there's too many joined up words, the headline will do.

So now, where Poch is concerned................ the SC snowball must grow as it rolls down the hill :D

He needs to stop talking to the press and prove himself through results. He is causing a lot of negativity that isnt nèeded.

In this instance the only negativity he is causing is the people taking his words out of context and using it as a stick to beat him with on this thread. He literally explains he looks at what a team achieves in a season to decide whether it's the best or not and is challenging the players to go one better this season because lasts seasons achievement will be hard to top with getting to the final of the Champions League.

I agree sadly - although I don’t agree that should be the case. Leicester are a very good team this season and we certainly shouldn’t just expect a result there.

They are, but I can’t accept that we should lose these games. If you look at the team we put out, we are better all over the pitch apart from fullback.

Leicester are a good side but we should be beating them. Let’s not make excuses for Poch and the team, if we lose this game it will be a terrible result and it will be a direct result of Rodgers getting the best out of a worse set of players than Poch is.

If we lose today our start to the season will be really quite a poor one in the context of performances and not just results.

Lamela does not do red! Almost every match he is given a yellow card, show me one instant that he has been given a second! Yes and I forgot that they were down to 10 men, which supports my opinion. They equalised playing with 10 men! Nuff said

that game he was so close, usually you lose that edge to him once he gets his usual yellow. he then made 2 challenges near to the time he went off and I thought oh shit the ref is going to level this.

It certainly is not. There are quite too many times where he has managed by, 1) making the wrong substitution, 2) not making substitution at the right time, 3) ignoring the other teams tactic when under pressure and doing nothing to counter react. I could go on. NLD Lamela who had Sanchez in his pocket taken off, then sanchez scores and equalises. Had we held out and won that game we would have been on top of the league. No telling what would have happened after that. That and the champions league selection fiasco are two that comes to mind and am still pissed off with to this very day. By the way, I do have a mind, therefore the opinions are my own. No need for me to follow anyone.

282 matches in charge of Tottenham and you've picked out 2, nothing like a bit of confirmation bias is there.

Does he want to be here ?

Is he going through the motions?

Clearly not good enough at the moment is it.

If the answer is no and yes - get rid

I have long been a fan of Poch. Thinking back to his comments about leaving if we won the Champions League, makes me think he is burned out. Getting to a major final should be a catalyst to push on, instead it made our manager want to leave.

In my view his heart isn’t in it, and the players sense that.

Time to leave Poch, time to go.

Huh? The bloke was living and breathing every moment on the touchlines today. He might not "be up to it" but to suggest his heart's not in it is palpably absurd.
