My initial thoughts were, a company that makes coffee makers? Really?

Then I had a look at the money they make/turnover. Could be something to it.

Yeah, apparently they invented the coffee filter.

Or more specifically, Melitta Bentz did in 1908:

There is an invention in all of us, and in 1908 Dresden housewife Melitta Bentz seized her moment while pondering why her coffee was eternally so over-brewed and bitter. Realizing she could brew a more delicious cup by filtering out the loose grounds with an improvised paper filter, Bentz patented the idea and today the family company, Melitta Group KG, employs around 3,300 people.

Remember when we thought that a huge naming rights sponsor was going to be a huge deal and would be announced any day now? This isn't a dig at Levy or ENIC and of course there has been the minor matter of a global pandemic and economic shutdown but it just struck me how things can change.

At this rate we will never get one until things have calmed down. I imagine the whole ESL fiasco doesn't help as well

If we couldn't get big money for a deal, then we should have got a cheaper deal on a 2 year contract.

At least that would be something.

My guess is that that could dramatically reduce the value of the naming rights for any longer term deal. I would have thought that part of the attraction for whoever does eventually land the naming rights for the long term is that their name will be on the stadium first.

With that random tweet from spursofficial account on Twitter, I wonder if they are hinting at a new stadium sponsor... three big companies share a similar brand color palette to the colors in the tweet: HP, IBM, and Twitter.

Its still strange as , as you say, we've been through a global pandemic and money is tight so having the naming rights still open when you could bank a small fortune does seem odd.
Its gonna be huge whennit finally lands.

But going through a global pandemic, do companies have a small fortune to spend on a naming right stadium?

Yes. Depending on which ones. A lot of tech companies had either on budget years or exceeded budget. Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, etc.

Hence why I had suggested hp and ibm, as they both had strong years.
