I'm glad the Spurs shut up Ron Artest, after he claimed the Kings would win the championship. Silly beggar.

Phew. That second game was a lot closer than the last. Down 3, with 7 seconds to go, Brent Barry from the corner, oh yeah!

Ginobili came through in OT for us. Good ol' Ginobles, definately my favourite Spurs player.

128-119 after OT.

That'll learn Mike Bibby for looking like Steve-o.

I know! Rebounded out than dropped back in! Amazing. I don't mean to be critical, but that was really lucky, and you are very fortunate not to by tying the series 1-1.

Happy 30th Birthday to Timmeh by the way. Good way to celebrate it anyway. Would've been funny if he fouled out in the 4th.

The Suns are one of the top 5 teams in the NBA at the moment, so they're still doing well, even without Charles Barkley! They're playing their 2nd match tonight at home to the Lakers, so it should be interesting to see whether they'll go 2-0 up or tie the series 1-1.

Well this year, mainly Steve Nash for the Suns. Amare Stoudemire's your other star player, but he's been injured and played about 3 games this season. You sold Q.Richardson, but 'The Matrix' (Shawn Marion) has been an ever present force in the team, as usual.

So Steve Nash has almost been carrying the team this year, which just strengthens his cause to retain MVP.

Yeah, Nash was MVP last year. He's one of the favourites to get it this year aswell. Not sure if he's only the second Sun to get it, although that would make sense. He is, however, apart from Magic Johnson, the only point guard to get it in the past 4 decades, and only the 4th ever.

I think Samuel L Jackson (Sprewell) is still around, although last i heard he was still a free agent. :?

Nash has been one of the major MVP candidates from the off this season, and apparantly there are reports already claiming that he's gonna win back-to-back MVP titles, the 9th player to do that in NBA history. I'm not sure he deserves it though to be honest. I understand that he's done a great job for the Suns, developing younger players to improve the overall roster, but I think the likes of Bryant and LBJ should be worthy of MVP this year as they are the Lakers and Cavaliers respectively. Without them these franchises wouldn't even be in the playoffs, but I think with the Suns they don't have to rely on Nash as much, with Marion being one of the best PF in the league.

Regarding the 2nd matches of the 1st round, the only real upset was the Lakers victory over the Suns on Wednesday night. D'Antoni claimed that his players were feeling 'the weight on their shoulders', and how the prospect of losing to a 7th seeded team would be a complete failure. Brent Barry's game-tieing 3 pointer meant the Spurs scraped through their 2nd round game in OT. The Wizards also defeated the Cav's to tie their evenly contested series, all because LBJ had an off-night. Apart from these scores every other game went as expected, with the Nets clawing their way back into the series to beat Indiana.

Chicago 108 - 115 Miami (Miami lead 2-0)

Denver 87 - 98 LA Clippers (Clippers lead 2-0)

Washington 89 - 84 Cleveland (Series tied 1-1)

Sacramento 119 - 128 San Antonio (OT) (SA lead 2-0)

Indiana 75 - 90 New Jersey (Series tied 1-1)

Milwaukee 98 - 109 Detroit (Detroit lead 2-0)

LA Lakers 99 - 93 Phoenix (Series tied 1-1)

Memphis 79 - 94 Dallas (Dallas lead 2-0)

Basketball doesn't have very complex rules so maybe you can just dismiss it and make a fair judgement.

But do you know the rules of American Football well enough to actually call it crap? I swear I would never have thought I'd like it, but I fucking love it! What a sport!

Believe me if they did last all week I would be delighted about it - sadly they are only about 3 hours (1 hour actual play)

Stop spamming the NBA thread with NFL stuff.

That's technicals for both of you.

I'm very intrigued with the Lakers - Suns series. It's seems PJ has found good formula to utilise Odom, Smush, and Kwame Brown, along side Kobe. The last game, they just plain shut down the Suns on defence - Marion was getting rejected left, right, and centre.
