So after the heartache of been beaten away by a side that could move into a top 4 place using their game in hand (up there with l'arse and Man United our last two defeats) we are down to a few crunch matches against beatable sides. Snap out of it, beating Newcastle up there was a fairytale... nice but not likely.
Win the three cup matches (very possible) and Spurs are into the last 8 of the League Cup and effectively successfully through the group stages of the UEFA Cup.
Win 2 of the 3 league matches and Spurs will be midtable within striking distance of a European slot.
King back.... a leader in the side.
Without a top class replacement for Jol at this stage, the board would be fools to move against him (like they were to drop George Graham days before an FA Semifinal versus l'arse), and fools not to back him with a new signing or two in January....a midfield general...please.... and very successful season is still there to play for.
However, get kicked out of the League Cup and drop points in the UEFA coupled with only one or no win in the premiership and Jol might as well start working on his autobiography...
"The rise and fall of Martin Jol and Spurs".
