Big difference between a 5 year contract and a 1-2 year one.

Of course.

But do we actually know whether a 1-2 year extension was not offered? It would be absolute buffoonery if not. What you seem to be implying is he was offered a 5-year or a long-term contract only.

I wonder if there will be any worthwhile protest.
Levy will be delighted that we are away for first game gives the fans time to.calm down. Yet again he eill get away with destroying our club!

Richard cracknall going in on them on twitter. I know I know to some he is a rando off a podcast but there is no way he doesn't hear bits with all those legends nights he does .

I think even those who defend the board wish they would move on. I just don't get what Levy is getting out of it now. It can't be for the adulation, we hate him, there is no glory, we win nothing and he would make such an insane profit now they must think it financially sensible to sell.

It's just a cycle of hope and failure and I can only summise that they would sell but just like with the players they're so greedy they want someone to pay way over the odds so it isn't and probably won't happen.

It's shit

I'd say it's more 5 years of mismanagement from Levy, starting with the bid of 3m plus Josh Onomah for Grealish, and that was the summer of 2018 when we failed to upgrade the squad and buy a single player! We were miraculously in the Champions League final the following season but missing 1 or 2 decent midfield players to edge it.

Combine this with the post by A&C, which quotes Levy when ENIC owned Rangers, stating he buys clubs just for the profit and he and Lewis don't really enjoy football. I think the fans need to find a way to find some owners that care about the club for once.

It will always be the same, reactive and never proactive. It's just a money-making machine for Levy and Enic

Chat GPT had this to sing about them:

Daniel Levy, Joe Lewis, they hold the strings,
In this football world of material things,
ENIC's the name, the company's the game,
Profit over passion, it's always the same.

When at the protests last season before the Man U home game, I always felt that the chant that stuck out to me that day was “what is your breaking point?”.

There are many who were not on board at all or a little reluctant, however, now I feel not just with the ticket prices going up but with Kane leaving this is one heck of a breaking point for a lot.

All this extra revenue generated at that stadium and now with Kane’s departure this sums up profit over glory.

Sad, frustrating and exasperating times, however, we’ve got to get behind Ange when we’re in that ground and also continue to let the Chairman know what the majority of us feel about his stewardship.

I’ve been Levy out since Nelson and Saha

but the Grealish debacle was the start of this cycle

even selling Dembele 6 months before we end up in the CL final

levy will always be about the p&l

With Levy you just know he isn't signing both Tapsoba and VdV. With Liverpool and Arsenal you know they would get both (unless Chelsea did Willian/Mudryk/Caicedo on them) and more. Just do the minimum to please the fans and hover around top 4 or top 5. With clubs being backed by states it's all going to shit anyway, this sport probably isn't worth it for him, increase the value and sell for few billions and that's it.
If Levy still thinks that's all that's needed to just hover around the top 4 or 5 (even if we had kept Kane) then he simply isn't paying attention.

Kane was open to an extension to give him more time with some clauses relevant to next summer. Levy's pushed for him to go now instead. This is all on Levy and we shouldn't let him weasel out of it.

Any replacement we try to sign now probably will cost £10m more as their club can't get a replacement in (or more likely, we go for the "cheaper" option).

The only way Levy comes out of this is if he gives Ange exactly what he wants and Ange manages a miracle with the squad we have.
Pin this to the top of every thread. That is fucking criminal.

His eye's been off the ball for so long that he might as well be one of our centrebacks

Indeed I felt the same and then down the line the whole Nuno debacle happened and it was laid bare we have absolutely no plan and it’s made up as it happens. Zero future planning, zero strategy. There is absolutely no winning football culture at this club at all, under the current board and Levy. The body of evidence is huge at this point, just how many great players have now moved on because they know they will win nothing here?

A winning football culture from the top of the club to bottom should be the first thing on a sheet, football 101, the frigging basics and the point of being a football club. It just doesn’t exist here, Levy quotes a bunch of times we have finished above Arsenal as if it’s some kind of achievement. It’s embarrassing and the kind of thing said by someone how doesn’t have the hunger to win. It’s a balance sheet with Levy. The owner sits on a boat somewhere with no idea probably of anything to do with football.

If Levy sticks around the same conversations will be being had on here in a decades time or longer.

Ahhh, how could I forget Nelson & Saha.

I was thinking about Dembele just after I wrote that post, as we had Winks and Sissoko in the final - we never replaced Dembele and had we done, we may just have clinched the Champions League. That would have also raised the club's profile as a brand, making them more attractive to sponsorship.

It looks like we are stuck with dr evil, but we do have Ange, a more balanced squad and 120m to spend to get our team in tip top shape.
