You can see it now, Danny COYS unwilling to budge on £30m plus for Hojbjerg when he's 28 and got 2 years left on his deal. Whether he remains at the club in a backup role, or goes out on loan, he's quite obviously not going to be worth that in a year. So we'll either pay his wages for a year when we can probably cope without him, and or we get about half that fee next summer. It's a false economy.

I bet it's the same on Eric Dier. 1 year left on his deal, soon to be 30 years old. I don't mean to be harsh but he is pretty much useless to us in this system and as a 5th choice. Given this he's worth no more than £5m but I bet Levy is asking for double that. So again if he stays we'll be paying him £4-5m to play for about 10 minutes, and we will get no transfer fee for him.

Why is Tanguy still here? Another player that won't play a minute. If no one will sign him permanently then loan him and try to get as much of that wage covered as you can. If he stays we are just throwing money down the drain.

Again, having Reguilon here is pointless when Davies and VDV can cover left back. It's a very similar scenario, I could go on.

So not only does it block our incomings, it also makes zero economic sense to hold on to these players. They are not promising players under 25 who are going to increase in value.

The only guys who it makes sense to hold out for market value on are Bryan and Spence.

My take - Daniel knows that European clubs ( markedly English ones ) do really silly, stupid deals late in every transfer window and can see a deal to be had there and if he things he can do better and get more in the door then he will. So concerning. and certainly not the way to run a massive football club who is also allegedly a "financial juggernaut".
If this is truly his mindset (past moves solidify this), it’s this that has got us in this mess. Him buying a player just cause they are a deal and not what we specifically need is the mismanagement that his steward ship is known for.
Need a creative midfielder.....I got you, here’s Sissoko. How different can a midfielder be right......? Need a striker, I got you let’s get Everton’s R9 in preparation for Harry’s departure...they must be the same as they are both strikers......right?
Hey AVB, we have sold Modric and Rafa, I’ve got you Dembele and Dempsey for a great bargain.....midfielders right ?

WLB saying we need to sell players before bringing any more in. We have sold arguably our best ever player but now can't sign anyone because we have a bloated squad. Levy really is the lad that keeps on giving isn't he
I posted this as a joke at the time... :(

And this is what is so fucking mental, he'll plonk down £60m without any due diligence, £30m on Sissoko last day of the window, yet fucks about over a few million from another club for one of our bang average squad players, its fucking tiresome and inept.

Ange has been Levy'd

The balance sheet is way too important versus that of a competitive team on the field.

He's holding the first team and manager hostage (same with the previous managers) as an excuse not to sign the talent and targets the manager has identified.

A lying weasel is what he is.

Profit is obviously important when you run a business and a football club, but when you don't even have it as a general idea or ideal to transcend your club to its greatest potential when it comes to sporting success its getting quite degenerate doesn't it.

The list of shit decisions and shithousery just keeps getting longer.

We started the Window needing to strengthen the defence, we’ve not done that sufficiently and on top of that he sold our greatest player from the last 30 years 1 day before the season opener. with no plan in place to replace him.

i detest him, hes a shameless money focused fucknuggler. He’ll se’ll what remains of our soul before hes done with our corpse

Ange is literally here because we are a shit show and likes a challenge, and said as much, so any ideas of him being a "hostage" is doing the bloke down. He did his due diligence and has been in the game for a long time and knows how the game works. Don't mug him off by thinking he's been fleeced by Daniel Levy ffs.

the same with the stadium sponsor - hang about waiting for a few more millions and miss out on 5 years of just a few less millions.

Keep seeing this without any acknowledgement of the fact that any sponsor is buying the marketing reach oppo that comes with being mentioned before every event that happens at the stadium, which is currently being announced as at "The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium".

I'd rather we did this years ago, though while we're not billing anyone every month for it, we do recoup in exposure from it. It's not the dead loss it's played out as.

When Levy still sits on the Kane money tnis weekend i wonder if the fans will let Levy know what they think about it.
It's a great opportunity before, half time and after the game to let him know how we all feel. But doubt we will as he gets a easy ride AGAIN.
Yes we would rather him piss the money away in a hurry without thought

I wonder if it's connected to looking for a sale or more likely investment.

If he wants an investor maybe he is hoping to use the sponsorship as a carrot.

In fairness this has been 12 months in the making so not having a plan is pretty inexcusable
Plans change, so does the market. The Saudi thing certainly throws a spanner in the works.

However, I can't understand why we haven't spent the kane money, then focused on the outs. We aren't going to benefit with last minute deals. Even if we got 5 - 10 million more on the sales, we'll end up paying a premium at the end of the window.

My annoyance is that this is more about value than what we need, and people are well within their rights to feel aggrieved, especially when the prices are so high. That's not unreasonable.

They sacrificed their league position to focus on winning silverware as they didn’t have the squad depth for both.

Now, they’re in european competition and have european silverware to their name. We have no european football and no silverware for 15 years. Their talismanic captain left after hoisting a major european trophy. Our generational striker did not.

That is success by definition.
So you would take that trophy while floundering in the bottom half? Not saying you are wrong, its a point of view but I'm sure there are others which aren't wrong/right either.
For me if that happened it would be more a consolation than what I would chose.

Do you think wetspam fans give a crap about this? You’re trying to minimise their achievement. Guess what? They still WON a trophy.

We haven’t achieved that since 2008. That is the whole point of the game isn’t it?
Its not an argument exclusive of other things though is it?
