But if you don't have the £, you can't get the results. If you don't have the £ you do a Leeds, a Portsmouth, or worst case a Bury or Macclesfield.

My post wasn't defending the way Levy has spent the £. His failure is how he has spent them.
We are not comparable to what Leeds did, I think that’s a poor excuse. The spending has been poor because a corporate business man who knows nothing about football has his finger in the pie far too often. His priority is the £ bottom line to the finest detail. He should run something other than a football club as the goal of a football club is to win trophies. We don’t have a winning culture we have a scatter gun strategy.

What part of my post disagrees with that?

Levy reminds me of me when I’m clothes shopping, I see something I really like but look at the price and can’t bring myself to part with the money!

How the hell do we ever progress with him in charge!

Every year people say that he can't continue to get away with it, and every year he continues to get away with it.

How is this man still getting away with it!?
Because he owns the club. / achieves the desired rules for the other owner.

It's hardly something new - fans not liking the owners and disagreeing with their decisions. But unless there is a buyer prepared to meet the price the owner demands in order to sell, its pretty much impossible to effect any change. There are lots of examples of other clubs whose fans have protested a lot harder and more consistently and still the owners won't budge.

So convenient for him, that the next home game isn’t until after the IB.

Which by then most will have forgotten about him, it’s rinse & repeat each season with him & us 🥱

Have to say it is a little bit tiresome reading people say "There is still one day left" in response to those moaning.

History tells us those people are right and have their reaction is totally justified.

After selling Kane, we have done ZERO and haven't even looked close to a transfer, instead we continue to get the same lines fed.

I don't care what anyone says, selling your best player and being in a situation where you have only brought in 1 CB, haven't signed an attacker that your coach requires is really poor.

I ain't going to another game until he's gone. I could be waiting forever, but he is not getting another penny out of me. I would definitely attend a protest outside the stadium, though.

For me the most frustrating thing about Levy is this habit he has of leaving us short in one or two key areas. It’s like every time it looks like we are close to having a really good squad Levy decides close is good enough and we end the window short. There seems to be a certain attitude of “winging it” every season.

It’s strange because infrastructure-wise, the stadium, the training ground etc all the emphasis seems to be on delivering world-leading facilities with no expense spared.

But in terms of the playing squad, even when we are spending a lot, I am left with the impression of “will this do”? What is the minimum we have to spend to get back in the Champions League? Can we get away with not buying a new CB until next summer?” etc.
The thing I also wonder is I reckon if we had lost our first 3 league games (or say just picked up 1 or 2 points) would he be acting differently? My guess is he probably would be acting with a bit more urgency and ambition. There must be a bit of him that’s like, well everything is going fine so far so no problems job done kind of thing.

Just I guess obviously but would be annoying if this is even just a little bit true.

We all know that he's reactive but rarely proactive. He only pulls his finger out when things are looking grim.

Does the supporters trust usually send in a letter/communication etc at the end of the transfer window?

Feel like this is prime opportunity for us to get the usual response where we “actually spent a lot of money” as they list of the Kulusevski and Porro fees in our spending. Ignoring we sold Kane and potentially might not sign a soul afterwards to improve the team.

Will be more telling on them if the team continues to do well but the pressure stays on Levy in light of what has been a farcical transfer window. Would honestly say this has been the transfer window equivalent of the Nuno managerial appointment. Full support to Ange and full credit to him if he does well with the clownshow going on upstairs.

Yep, then you buy 3 pairs of jeans for a fiver each and they fall apart after the first wash!

There was a conversation in another thread a few weeks back which pretty much explains how people can continue defending Levy and the way we operate.

They treat every situation as a brand new event and completely ignore history and patterns.

Yes, there's still a day left. Yes, it makes sense saying to wait for the window to close. Yes, they can conjure up some reason why every deal that falls through can't get done.

But look at it with the context of of modus operandi for the past 20 years and people can reasonably predict how this ends. We've seen the story so many times before. This window isn't any different - we're likely to leave ourselves short, we're playing a game of brinkmanship that we'll likely lose.

Some can remain optimistic if they wish but given history, others are right to be skeptical.

But we'll be here again next window. The same posters will get agitated at the way we operate and voice their frustrations, the same posters will talk down to them and tell them stop bed wetting and wait until the window is closed and we'll rinse and repeat, treating each window as if we don't know how it'll end.

I've said before this club will ever be united under this chairman. He clearly won't change the way he operates. Some fans will never trust him. Some fans will defend him to the end. And it'll be a constant battle of the BSODL vs the Bed Wetters -on here and in other parts of the internet.

It's a shame and it's tiresome.

Apart from the Sugar Daddy clubs could anyone point me to the ideal owners currently in the Premier league they would like to replace ENIC with?

It's those who are still optimistic enough to keep buying into the "he'll really change this time" schtick I feel sorry for.

Especially as they also have to contend with the condescension from the usual crowd when they understandably lose it with the ongoing BS at the end of each window.
