Don't remember that one tbh - probably tried to erase it from my memory. Anyway, we trekked up to Bolton (old ground) on a Wednesday night and were shocking. They actually scored a 7th that went across the line but the ref didn't see it. All the Spurs fans were booing him and singing it was in. Remember they were in the next division down. Walker was in goal. Just looked it up (first time I've been able to bring myself to). 1996/97. Ah, them there good old days that we all hanker for eh?
I remember it too - got a lift there with a mate who was a Bolton steward. Got to meet with Sheringham and saw Sugar there too.
It was a long ride back home after the game. Had to feign sleep in the end…😔🤣

I dont agree. We now know for the first time from this interview, that annually the club makes £20m to £30m from the other events and this is put towards capital costs. Ie. paying off the interest on the loans as I always expected the plan was. This has never been confirmed before. It just shows why they were so important and why the stadium being closed for so long after it just opened really hurt us.

The full interview and especially the last few minutes are probably Levy being as honest as he has ever been and actually admitting to getting things wrong in his desperation to win. I think the full interview is a lot more revealing than the fan forum questions and builds on the answers he gives in that quite nicely.

Good interview I thought , sounds like the naming rights deal is not high priority and after hearing that it is now the Spotify Nou Camp (what a crap name) , I'm quite happy with that.
Levy mentioned that the Tottenham name was appearing all over the world in connection with concerts and the other events but how much that is worth I'm not sure can be calculated
The last accounts did specify the amount made from other events , it was £31.9 million , it specifically mentions NFL, Rugby , stadium tours , Skywalk and matchday catering with the kart track coming expecting that to increase.

I remember when we were top of the list for FA Cup wins, I always thought it was amazing thing for our club and as a supporter it was something to be so proud of. We were never challenging for league every year but the cups was our thing. It makes grim reading now since 1991.

Yeah me too. We were thought of as a “cup side” when I first started following Spurs. In fact I think we wanted to shed that reputation by becoming more consistent in the league.

Yes of course its engineered PR and not everything is forgiven BUT… that interview is the best one Levy has ever done imo, he makes many good points and shows he has learnt from mistakes especially admitting that Jose & Conte were not right for our club and that the style of play as well as winning is important to our fans/DNA.

I have no problem with him doing more interviews and PR whilst the feeling is more positive right now, we moan that we don’t hear enough from him well he was at the fan forum and has just done that Bloomberg interview both of which contained some open and honest answers.

He’s not perfect but I’m always fair and balanced in my views of people, I’ve slated him for his mistakes and bad decisions but I’m also willing to give him credit for realising his mistakes and for hiring Ange.

Here’s to a much more enjoyable season and time as a Spurs fan again.

Honestly if we continue in this direction to back Ange with reasonable spending and exciting young players which suit this new attacking style of play then we should be in for a good ride at least for the next few years.

Agreed. While I’m no fan of his meddling with football matters, I’m hoping with Munn hires etc, he’ll mellow out and focus on the commercial side.

I rather spend my energy watching the team play than hating on a football chairperson. Life too short and all that.

Postecoglou has taken the heat off Levy and now he’s vomiting sound bites in every direction. Keep your focus on the money and prices folks, he won’t budge on that.
Bump. From last Saturday? Slackers. Follow the money…

From Ange re. January window and wanting to get business done early. Well that goes against our usual MO under Levy so lets see how this plays out. If we do get one or two in early in Jan then I think we can truly say that Levy has changed and also more importantly that he has finally stepped further away from the football operations... PRAYING...

Johan Lange started this week, have you spoken to him and how important is getting him and Rob Mackenzie in long before January?

I've caught up with Johan, nothing too formal. I don't have the attention span for long meetings mate so it tends to be just casual chats with people. It's the best way to get my point across if I need to say anything. The good thing is he is in the building now so he's interacting with all the right people.

The bit with me is the easy bit, it's about setting up the procedures and the structures to make sure he gets the department working the way he wants to get the right outcomes.

As you said, Rob joining will help that. It is important they come in now. The January window, like for every club, is an important one. My view on the January one is that if you can get your business done early in the window it certainly is more helpful because you leave it until the end of January and sometimes what you train to gain you've missed that opportunity by waiting a whole month. That's sometimes out of your control so having him in is good. I'm sure we'll have a lot of discussions between now and then and I'm looking forward to working with him.

Encouraging but I disagree early signings in January will mean we can say levy has truly changed, that needs to be proven over a number of years not in space of 8 months or whatever

Guy is a ****. A useless ****. If he had a brain he'd have got naming rights on the stadium. Anyone that thinks Teflon has a brain is an idiot.
IIRC, stadium naming rights for THFC have been valued at around 20 million euros per season. Keeping the name "The Tottenham Hotspur stadium" is worth far more than that.
