Likely a multitude of reasons. Trippier and Davies have nowhere near the physicality of Walker or pre-injury Rose; all of our central midfielders have either regressed, are past their best or are constantly injured; the significant majority of the squad had no pre season and lack sharpness; we didn't sign anyone to inject some fresh blood.

Whatever it is, we are noticeably lethargic with and without the ball and lack the technical ability to make up for it.

Poch teams are athletes first and foremost, and without that competitiveness we are very average.

If it hadn’t been for the Poch Press, yo.
We’d have been relegated a long time ago.
Where did it come from?

I think it’s down to fatigue. We had barely any preseason and most of our players were there to the end of the World Cup. Poch knows we’d never keep up a pressing game all season.

A part of me even thinks that Poch doesn't fancy it anymore.

We ran out of steam in the 2015/16 season where our limited squad was shattered and had a terrible end to their last five games.

Then we bulked up the numbers and started to press a bit more cleverly in the 2016/17 season by choosing to do it at certain times rather than every game. But since then we have never really pressed or hunted the ball down the same way at all.

Personally believe that poch is managing the team well till probably January where press begins again so that we don't run out of steam.

But what happened to it last season when it wasn't the world cup previously it was missing then so that doesn't explain it.

Coincides with us playing at Wembley. To me I agree that Walker and Rose were so important to it but I also think there's been an active decision not to press given we're on this huge pitch

The most important player in our successful press game was is Erik Lamela
He definitely led the charge up front, but Kane, Eriksen, Dele & Son were all apart of it. The fullbacks & midfield just played a huge part in the clean up.

Remember playing Watford a couple of seasons ago and the guy managing them at the time said something like 'they're animals, hunting down the ball'. ???
