I know we played well and we deserved the 3 points... (and i got decent points on the prediction league)
but i really can't shake the feeling of how dangerous Cardiff looked. Every time Naughton had the ball i was worried, Bellamy kept closing him down and he didn't look confident on the ball, and worst was we didn't really have any changes on the bench to allow us to switch Verts to the left.
and i can't believe how much pressure Fraizer Campbell and Odemwingie put on the back line, two strikers what won't even come close to our bench this season.
We really need to do better, we created lots and lots of chances, but failed to take any till injury time. Cardiff had a couple of good chances, and if they had taken one of them, would be a really different story.
We have defended really well so far this season, but today i was really worried, straight from kick off piled on the pressure, and they really did well.
Can't agree, I am currently re-watching the game and Cardiff were anything but 'dangerous'. The Campbell chance was down to a poor back pass by Naughton, The Turner disallowed goal was sloppy work by Lloris which led to the corner, Odemwingie shot was poor clearance by Naughton, and there was another chance they had which was down to some sloppy work by us but I can't remember who it was. The only chance they crafted which did not involve us doing something silly was the Gunnarson shot that sticks out in my mind. On the other hand we were all over them and should have won by a bigger margin than 1 goal. If we had been less sloppy it would have been pretty much comprehensive and are only gripe would have been that we only won by 1 goal or left it so late. Another 8 men behind the ball game. I'll give Cardiff this much they were positive in trying to capitalise on our mistakes, but other than that they really did nothing. And all are mistakes were poor tbh and not even really I would say overly forced.
