wolves twice, stoke, wigan all last season, wigan again this season and probably a ton of others that have missed. I dont think we will ever learn from our mistakes against the lesser teams

If we hadn't learnt to beat the lesser teams, we wouldn't have come fourth last year or been fourth this season.

United lost to Wolves, have they not learnt? It's just the vagaries of football, especially this year. Literally anyone can beat anyone, and I don't mean literally like (to quote Redknapp Jnr) "Paul Scholes is literally painting a picture on the pitch" or (to quote Pleaty) "Ryan Giggs literally only has one foot", I mean literally. Literally.

We beat Wigan 12-1 on aggregate last season...

The Wolves and Stoke games last year, that performance showed up for Wigan at home this season, but we put it to bed when we beat Wolves 3-1, Newcastle 2-0 and Fulham 1-0 when all of those teams came with the same game plan.

This season we've been able to beat tough teams away from home, including our first league win at Craven Cottage since I was a taddy in my dad's right nut.

We beat them there in March 2002.

I don't want to know anymore.

Aren't you just a little ray of sunshine......

i am actually but when i see names like bassong hutton jenas defoe and to lesser extent ekotto on a teamsheet i defintely get negative!! thse players are lighweight, liablities and should be replaced asap imo. dont care what anyone says. we get away it sometimes when they play but thats cos vdv, modric or bale or lennon provide some magic for us and do what they do but when they dont we get what we deserved the other night. we def need a serious upgrade in all parts of pitch before i get anyway near carried away.

And I'm sure most here dont care for what you have to say.

So, after today we must conclude that Liverpool are very much OUT of the race.

And City dropping points unexpectedly means we're three behind with the Arse game in hand.

One win in five now for City, oh how heartily I will laugh if those nouveau fuckers miss out on top 4 again.

Should I be horrified at someone shooting a Chelsea fan? No? Didn't think so.:)

Still think that Chelsea have the toughest run in and although they have experience of a title run in the pressure of not even making the CL will be a bit different, God alone knows what Abramovitch will do to them if they come fifth, Russian roulette with a fully loaded gun I shouldn't wonder!!

pretty good day for us league wise without even playing! Liverpool's loss helps cement our push for European football of some variety and City's dropped points are golden.

Plus A***nal losing the final is the cherry on top!

Good times!

Which is why I hate anyone that makes those stupid BBC predictor threads

Even though the results went for us today, I'm not confident at all of beating Wolves, atleast they won't have O'Hara though.

Don't say it, Brett...I did last week, and got into trouble for denying basic human rights of expression (or summit heinous:grin:).

Especially the 'Oh my Gawd, oh my Gawd, I've predicted us to lose all of our remaining games and ArseScum, Chelsea and Citeh to win all of theirs (but I'm NOT a pessimist)...and guess what...we are gonna get relegated...or summit" ones:rofl:

Exactly, which is why we shouldn't necessarily look further than our next fixture ie Wolves away and see where we are come 5 o'clock.

Predictors only make for fools out of us - otherwise I'd have won a fortune on an accumulator already!

should be 'the race for third place thread' also indicates we have improved a bit on last season, although noones mentioned this to our strikers yet :)

I think this weekend went as well as we could have hoped following our midweek loss. Only two Prem games in March - Wolves and West Ham, we really need to be aiming for six points to keep our hold on a top four spot, whilst hopefully Man City and Chelsea continue to struggle. If we can go into April in 3rd or 4th, we'll be in a great position. At least we don't have to worry about Liverpool any more.

Without doing the predictor thing, I see Man Shitty have 5 away games remaining - at Chelski, both Scousers, Bolton and Blackburn. Can't see them getting too many points out of that lot.

every game is vital and evry game should be treated like cup final. i agree shitty have some veru tugh away games but whilest i dont rate them one bit its still possible they can get some wins there. just do our own stuff and we will make it . imo if we get 4 wins out of 4 in next 4 games - wolves, wet spam, wigan and stoke then i think we have massive chance of 3rd let alone 4th and might even give ourselves a cushion and allow even chelski and shitty to beat us.

It does make you wonder where we would be if our strikers could actually chip in with a few goals

I would say it would be a three horse race for the title with a much healthier GD.

With a proper firing front line this season we'd be competing with United :-(
