Our squad will determine where we finish not our first 11. Many (perhaps all) of our first 11 will be playing the CL games - that's the competition they worked hard for last year to get into and be part of. What we need is our squad players to be counted on when needed. We need the likes of Wimmer Davies Trippier Wanyama Son Janssen etc to come in and help us get points in the league against the likes of Palace, Hull, Middlesbrough Southampton Watford etc. If our squad players step up (and they are capable of beating those teams) then there is no reason we can't challenge as our first 11 is one of, if not the best and most balanced in the league.

They're not silly, they just know you could practically offer the scousers at Evens and they'd still be telling you those are good odds because it's their year.

I'd have them at just about right - touch and go between us and bin dippers. All bar Arse considerably strengthened their starting 11s and will go again. We haven't and when you offset that vrs the benefits of stability I think 5th is about right

What a lot of people are not mentioning is the fact that 3 managers will be under immense pressure to win the league. Their owners have given them 100's of millions to win the league. 2 of them will fail. City, Utd and Chelsea will all expect to be winning the league and trophies. It will come down to how they handle the pressure. Just look what happened to Mourinho last season when they got off to a bad start.

Will Conte and Mourinho cope when games or decisions don't go their way? Conte appears to be a lunatic on the side lines and we already know what Mourniho and Guardiola are like together.

Wenger will be only under pressure from his own fans. The board are clearly quite happy to finish 4th. Klopp will be looking to finish a minimum 4th too.

As for points total I think the days of teams winning the league with 90 points are over. The tv money has made the league more competitive. The likes of Everton, West Ham, Southampton, Leicester and Stoke will all pick up points from the big boys.

I'll be happy if we go unnoticed again while all the focus is on the antics at the 3 clubs spending the millions. All the media will be drooling over the stories they can write about Utd, City and Chelsea while no one will mention that we have gone unbeaten for the first 25 games :D

Unfortunately you only really go under radar if you're trailing all season. After last season's performance if we are top after 13 games this season we will definitely not be under radar

There will be more focus on the traditional top teams under performing rather than out and out praise for us I reckon.

I have just watched manure and Leicester, and am now watching the scum and citeh. I know its early days, preseason and all that, but I was not impressed with any of them.

Arsenal should've been 3-0 up in the first 30 minutes and then Aguero scores with their first chance. Arsenal look like they need a striker and a CB as usual, nothing changes with them.

Nothing will change at Arsenal until Wenger goes. They'll bob about at 3rd, 4th or 5th (2nd if someone gives it to them) but be no threat to the title. The place is just stale and needs a new manager with new ideas to freshen things up.

You can change managers too often (as we have done) and continuity is vital but after nearly 20 years the reverse can be true and everyone needs a change.

I expect the rest of the "Top 6" (other than Arse) to start slowly due to settling issues w/ new managers and/or new players. I think we've got a great shot at challenging for the title if we're able to come out of the gates blazing while everyone else capitulates a little. COYS!

I think there are too many things to fine tune from last season to be talking about the title race. I also don't think it's even sane to assume that all of the major clubs going through large changes will fail to profit from the changes. We must assume that at least 1 or 2 big clubs will improve drastically from the start. A cemented top 4 position for Spurs will be a great achievement.
