I think it's harder to predict which of the top teams will have a bad season. There's always 1 who has a fall from grace.

I think there are too many things to fine tune from last season to be talking about the title race. I also don't think it's even sane to assume that all of the major clubs going through large changes will fail to profit from the changes. We must assume that at least 1 or 2 big clubs will improve drastically from the start. A cemented top 4 position for Spurs will be a great achievement.

Im not stupid enough to assume that none of the 'big' clubs will improve drastically but being at the fine tuning stage is not something i would call a negative - what a great thing to be able to say about Spurs.

We are in a position where we just have to tweak things the right way to improve and if done correctly those tweaks will narrow if not flip the margins by which we dropped most of our points last season.

Mourinho at Man U, I don't think anyone can be that sure about. Maybe in a month we'll know, but there are question marks over it. Same has to be said for Chelsea, surely. It would be surprising if Guardiola doesn't get into a stride with Man City, for sure. But no reason we can't be well in it. Last season was great, but Poch is on an upward trajectory at Tottenham. Things can get even better.

He's made a great start by substituting the substitute, Mata and has already started the process of alienation and divisive behaviour.
I give him <2 years at the club.

That is what he does. It is all about him and he will upset whoever he needs to to ensure his personal narrative. I don't like him or the way his teams play. We are as good as any team in the league and just need to go out and do our thing.

We're 6th lowest price in the betting behind both Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Silly bookies

Bookies price things to take the gullible punters money. look at a new manager market, lay the favourite, the media then push someone else, lay that favourite and you'll mop up the money.

City, Chelsea and United are all learning a new system of play, that gives more opportunity for their opponents than many seem to realise. Are we underrating stability, familiarity, of staying together and improving as a group?

A second non transitional season in a row.
A team of players at an age to improve.
A top manager.
Bit more depth to the squad.
The experience of coming close.
Solid defense.

All great factors for us.
I think the key may be how creative Eriksen and Lamela can be at home when teams play deep against us and we haven't got an early goal.

And the most important thing is that we believe we are good enough, I think we are more or less over that psychological barrier of being well Spurs and the team believe that they are good enough to mix it with the best, we made great strides mentally last season.

I find both the pundits and a lot of our own fans' predictions astonishing.Almost no journalist has us competing for the top spot, and it makes me wonder how they actually make a living.Personally i think we'll win it this season, and i can't see any reasonable argument against it, even with the Manchester teams supposably having the right to fight it out amongst themselves while the rest fight for the other 2 spots. What utter BS.I predicted we'd finish 3rd last year and this year i'm going for 1st

Most of us don't want to think about winning the league to avoid disappointment. It's a defensive gesture. We certainly could, but we shouldn't be expecting to, imo.

To be honest if we CL again next year that in itself would be progress and achievement and i would be happy with that, but as for the title i still think one of the big boys will do it.

We are going to win the PL and the CL. It's going to be the best year ever and WHL will have the glory glory days back as one last swansong before moving to the new stadium.

I dont think both the Manchester clubs will dominate the league.Utd, however much money they throw about, are on the decline.Mourinhos last his aura too. When he first came to England he had that assured cockiness and tied the media up in knots.Nowadays he just looks miserable and has turned into a 'Blame anybody but me' manager.

Guardiola is a good coach but hes never managed in a truly competitive league before so that should be interesting. His acheivements on paper are out standing but if you scratch the surface, theres certainly a lot of room for debate about it.

if we won it all last year, people will say meh the competition was weak, was a fluke.

but if we win this year we shut their damn mouth for good.

The reason we will finish top 4 is because of our defence including Hugo. Add Eric (the wrecking machine) and Victor and every other side has nightmares.

P.S. I havent even added Harry, Erik, Christian and Dele.

Lots of people getting carried away in this thread, need to keep our feet on the ground and take it 38 games at a time.
